B E A U T Y • Serums

Good Evening,

How are we all? I am currently in a cocoon of Pink Gin and Euro Football ; there are absolutely no complaints here. I actually think I’ll miss it when it’s over.

I am going to be talking about skincare [again] tonight; more specifically serums.

Please remember that although I absolutely love skincare I am not an authority like say skincare royalty Caroline Hirons. I just like to discover products that suit my skin, don’t break me out. Products that do what they say on the tin. If I’m honest the packaging is more likely to sway me over the ingredients! But sshhh I never said that!

I thought I would run through a few of my current favourite / most used face serums with you today. I am in the privileged position that I get sent quite a bit of skincare as PR. It’s great as I get to try out so many brands but not all the products I am sent suit my skin. Let’s just say my friends love me.

The serums featured below are ones that I would definitely repurchase …

Just for reference • I am 50 years old. I have combination skin that is prone to hormonal breakouts around my jawline and chin. I am not overly wrinkly due to the fact I had acne in my early 20’s … that usually comes with greasy skin.

I look for products that hydrate my skin without breaking me out. I’m a contradiction. My skin needs all the moisture and plumping action BUT also products that aren’t too heavy that they break me out.

I N I K A • Phytofuse Renew Resveratrol

Offering both nourishment and protection, the INIKA Phytofuse Renew Resveratrol Serum is blended with 14 precious botanical oils, the highly concentrated formula harnesses all the beneficial properties that these plants have to offer and delivers them directly to your skin.

It has the consistency of a cream over a serum, and despite looking quite thick it is actually very light and sinks in quickly and easily. My skin practically drinks it up ! It smells absolutely divine. I presume this is down to the beautiful ingredients that include Sunflower Seed Oil, Resveratrol Grape Extract & Rose of Jericho

The Organic Sunflower Seed oil is rich in essential vitamins A,C,D and E which improves the appearance of aging skin

Rose of Jericho ensures my skin never goes without the moisture it needs. Im finding that despite having spot prone skin I need all the plumping hydration at the moment.

I absolutely love this serum, it feels luxurious.

I N S T I T U T E S T H E D E R M • Intensive Propolis + Salicylic Acid Serum

This is the serum I reach for during my spotty, congested skin days .

This intensive serum is lightweight with an airy texture. It sinks into the skin beautifully with no stickiness. Enlarged pores and areas of redness are reduced.

It’s got an odd, earthy, herb-like smell that I’ve read a lot of people find unpleasant. I actually rather like it. If something could smell healthy this is what I envisage it would smell like.

It is ideal for adults , just like me, who are prone to acne as it targets the appearance of breakouts and blemishes, working to visibly minimise them.

The innovative tip of the serum allows you to target specific areas that are prone to pimples . Ingenious!

It’s another serum I love, one that does exactly what it states it will.

To only be applied in the evening.

L’ A B U S K I N • Skin Brightening Serum

This is another serum I grab when I feel my skin needs some ‘life’ giving to it. You apply 2-3 pumps which absorbs instantly leaving your skin feeling plump and hydrated with a lovely mat finish. It can be used morning and evening.

I love the story behind this brand. It was created by a Mother & Daughter team – Hayley & Netta. They both believe great skincare can be achieved using a simple but premium routine. Influenced by their Italian heritage , family ethos and organic passion the brand launched in 2019.

Targeting simplicity and efficiency, their range is uncomplicated, luxurious in quality and always affordable. Prices range from £15.00 to £22.00

It’s another serum that smells good enough to eat. As you may have noted by now I have a thing for a lovely s …
