TASSIMO My Way …

I am Tracey and by my own admission I am a member of the fully fledged coffee addicts club. I love the [preferably] ‘milky and frothy with a sprinkle of chocolate’ on top variety.

I’ve tried to ween myself off it in the past. You know just the 3 cups a day … rather than my current 6 but figured why if you love something? Life is too short

So you can therefore imagine my delight when TASSIMO got in touch to see whether I’d like to try out their ”My Way’ TAS60xx Machine. Of course I said yes and waited patiently for it to arrive.

Can I just reiterate I don’t just like coffee. I LOVE coffee. I want it first thing in the morning, last thing at night and lots in between . Most importantly I want it to coffee shop standard in my own home. I want to invite my friends around and play ‘hostess with the most-est’ serve them great coffee [and cake]  so they’ll come back and see me again.

Ladies that Lunch | Coffee Shop Corners – Cawa comes to Broomhill, Sheffield

As far as I’m concerned there’s never NOT a good time to enjoy cake and a coffee … so when I was asked along to Cawa Coffee to the Bloggers event to sample their coffee and cakes I was on it like a car bonnet !

I actually couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Tuesday evening …well unless it involved Kit Atherington that is.

Thinking about coffee, cake & Kit just got me slightly giddy.

So as I was saying before Kit kindly interrupted my thoughts … Cawa Coffee is situated amongst the hustle and bustle of Broomhill at 5,Crookes Road . It’s ideally located with a car-park literally a stones through away just alittle further up the hill.

Jo and I arrived and where greeted by Katie who had organised the event and the owner Galyna [below]

Cawa Coffee is decorated very basically; plain painted walls are adjourned with artwork supplied by local artists, all of which are for sale. Tables run down one side of the room with the food counter and serving area down the other.

“One Is Never Over-Dressed OR Understated With A Little Black Dress” Karl Lagerfeld

I didn’t plan on buying anything, honestly I didn’t. I’ve been in a fashion rut just a lately.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve put a little weight on recently and I feel like everything looks blahhh on me or it’s the weather.

Maybe it’s a combination of both.

Anyway I’m on a diet, I’ve started a new fitness regime that involves lots of walking and it’s getting warmer.

Oh and I bought a little black dress from River Island. Continue reading

Rileys & Co…Oh Hello #ladieswholunch

I arrived at Sues earlier today, feeling a little sorry for myself  and out of sorts.

Just one of those day, you know,  we all have them. I couldn’t decide whether I wanted to rip some bodies head off, sit and cry, or do both!

I  plonked myself down on her settee and asked her to take me somewhere nice, feed me and cheer me up. Could I leave it up-to her were we ate as I didn’t have a decision in me. #dramaqueen

And so it was I was introduced to Rileys & Co, Farrar Road, Sheffield. (behind Okeh Café on Abbeydale Road) Continue reading

Autumn Mornings …

Autumn morning ; sunshine and crisp air, birds and calmness, years end and day’s beginnings – Terri Guillemets

I Love Autumn … its my absolute favourite time of year.

Dark cold nights loom in early  followed by fresh, nippy mornings.

The leaves on the trees turn from green to burnt orange, golden brown  and vibrant reds. Everything looks beautifully colourful. Continue reading

Sandersons at Fox Valley Grand Opening…#Sheffield

As is always the case whenever I’m scheduled to go somewhere special something ridiculous happens.

On Monday it appears I washed my face with a flannel that had blinking turps on it! Yes chuffing paint remover – turps!

Long story short we have decorators in who had cleaned their brushes in the bathroom unbeknown to me.

How I didn’t smell it is beyond me!

Luckily because I couldn’t get my brows wet I didn’t go anywhere near my eyes but within 1/2 hour of using said flannel the rest of my poor face was red, blotchy, itchy and looked slightly swollen.

I woke up this morning and although my skin felt a lot better I still had very dry , tight skin that was shredding like a snake. Everytime I smiled , or just moved my face I could feel my skin cracking.

Lovely.

Luckily my newly micro-bladed eyebrows had also shredded in the night to reveal a fine pair of fresh rather lovely eyebrows underneath. Thankfully I no longer resembled Parker so at-least the Thunderbird jokes could stop!

I sighed (in an oh shit look at the state of me type of way) spayed my face with Evian water (again) and set off to pick mum up.

As a ‘guest; we had been asked to get to Sandersons Boutique Department store a little earlier than the official opening time of 11.00am

Its situated at Fox Valley, Stocksbridge only a 5 minute drive from mine . We arrived a lot earlier, I’m always punctual if a little scaley!

We collected our badges and made our way inside for  a ‘sneaky peak’  before the official opening at 11.00am

Hidden Gems of Sheffield …

Lots of things make me happy – chocolate, cake and coffee. Friendship , travel and lush landscapes.

On Friday I met up with my friend Sue. I needed the dress (I’m intending to wear to the charity masked ball this weekend) altering. I adore it however it’s slightly too big on the shoulders and stretched to its limit around my bum!

Visible panty line …it’s so tight its more like visible intestines!

So to cut a long story short Sue’s friend has a ladies clothes shop on Abbeydale Road that also offers an alteration service. We popped in, dropped said dress off and then headed a few doors down for a coffee.

Abbeydale Road is a haven for coffee shops and restaurants. Its fast becoming one of my favourite places in Sheffield for its diversity.

Today’s coffee shop offering came in the shape of ‘Tea with Percie’ 557 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield a place I had never visited before but was keen to try.

Small, with a laid-back atmosphere . Its tastefully decorated with a mix-match of furniture , grey hues and funky art-work/ decorations.

We decided to grab a bite to eat as well as a beverage. Continue reading

Clearing the clutter… My wardrobe over haul

My friend Sue has put me to shame and has recently had a de-clutter getting rid of over half her wardrobe. When we met up last week she enthused about how good it felt to get rid of the old to make way for the new.

She has ‘cleansed’ her wardrobe and it was genuinely making her happy?

Alien to me…

I’m a hoarder.

I chuck nothing!

I always fear I’ll regret it and that said items will suddenly come back ‘in’ and have their day. My yellow shoes are testament to this!! Continue reading
