The end … Marbella Diaries

So as with most good things they come and go far too quickly for my liking.

I had been looking forward to my weekend in Marbella with the ladies for what seemed like forever and it was over in a flash … just like that !

So how did we spend our last day?

Having not really left the villa during the day to explore , we decided today was the day we would venture out to Orange Square in Marbella’s Old Town.

I had heard reports it was amazing and very beautiful.

Having only had a few hours sleep, hung over but feeling surprisingly chirpy , 6 of the 10 booked taxis for 11.00am.

We had strict instructions from Leigh ( who decided to have a lazy day around the pool) that we had to be back at 5.00pm.

We had no idea why but promised we would be.

Old Town Marbella was approximately a 20 minute taxi drive from the villa and cost €24 (about £20.00) which between a few of you doesn’t break the bank.

By golly was it worth it  … when we eventually found her.

Head upwards towards the mountains , not towards the sea like we did initially !

Its all in the eyes…

Hello , it’s been a while but today I thought I’d do a post  about the one  thing I’m probably asked about the most…

No, no not how I manage to pull off bag lady chic on a daily basis … but my eye makeup / eye care routine.

From a young age I got complimented on my green eyes and my long lashes. I had crap skin … something had to go in my favour.

I liked the compliments (of course) but mostly I got embarrassed because that’s what 14 year olds do.

I would blush tomato red. I never knew what to say. So I just grinned at them like a simpleton.  I could never  accept a compliment something I still struggle with today. Continue reading

Lunch at Brocco, Sheffield #ladiesthatlunch

The best thing about Friday definitely has to be meeting up with the girls for what has become our weekly  ‘Ladies that Lunch’ . Ok , ok so we are hardly girls but old biddies doesn’t quite cut the mustard.

Sue choose the venue today . She plumped on Brocco on the Park  which is situated at 92 Brocco Bank at the bottom of Ecclesall Road. (Eccy Road to us Sheffielders.)

Brocco is a Boutique Hotel with a restaurant. They refer to it as a neighbourhood kitchen. I like that, it sounds friendly, homely and welcoming.

I’ve dined here before with mum. It was to celebrate  her ‘6 month with no cancer’ results. My treat for her kissing cancer’s ass.

I’ve only ever been here for drinks with Sue and Rebecca. Prosecco and nibbles, very civilised loveies . Continue reading

Clearing the clutter… My wardrobe over haul

My friend Sue has put me to shame and has recently had a de-clutter getting rid of over half her wardrobe. When we met up last week she enthused about how good it felt to get rid of the old to make way for the new.

She has ‘cleansed’ her wardrobe and it was genuinely making her happy?

Alien to me…

I’m a hoarder.

I chuck nothing!

I always fear I’ll regret it and that said items will suddenly come back ‘in’ and have their day. My yellow shoes are testament to this!! Continue reading

Tarrah 2015…

This is a real quickie!! Mainly because I’m getting ready to go out and as I already have a tiny hang-over from last night. Yep I was a little naughty. Most people save themselves for tonight… not me.

On behalf of Liz and myself I would just like to say a (very big and very loud) Happy New Year to everybody who supports and pays a visit to our little part of the blogasphere!

We really appreciate it and we love receiving your comments. We don’t get many but those we do… well we love reading them.

I really hope you enjoy our ramblings and that in some small way we inspired you,  made you giggle or just plain confused you!  ( that’s called the Tracey effect)

Look out for some little changes in the new year. We have ideas… It could be dangerous,  but we do. Were going to take over the world… Ha ha ha ( I’m reading that over in my head in a baddies voice… Like you do)

On a last note and a quick update.

I don’t have a new outfit for tonight. Dah!

I’ve totally lost my clothing mojo and can’t seem to find anything I particularly like. The green sequin dress will remain just a figment of my imagination.

My pesky cats Lola and Frankie, are still bringing worms into the house ; the bigger and better it would appear. I am having heart failure literally all over.

Only yesterday I picked up what seemingly looked like a brown bobble to tie my hair back!!  You guessed it,  It was a bloody worm.I completely freaked out and threw it across the room.

Along with my foot, I haven’t been able to look at my hand in the same light since…

My boyfriend can’t stop laughing.

I’m sure the cats can’t either!

It was also good to see my mum in such great spirits today after a shitty year. ( regular readers will know about her battle with cancer and subsequent kidney problems)

I called around to see them both earlier. I walked into them singing along to Elvis at full blast. Mum was dancing, I started dancing and dad well he was doing something but I’m not sure what!

We ate cheese ( love the cheese as my hips will justify!)  and Christmas cake with coffee.  Elvis serenading us in the background.

I left them both all smiling and still singing. It was a good way to leave them and a nice image for me to bring in the new year.

Elvis done good.

Happy parents = Happy Tracey

So… I really hope whatever you are upto later  you have a great night. 2016 can you bloody believe it?!

I’ll see you on the other side…

Cheers!

Much Love as always and until next time,

Head problems… and the search for the perfect green dress

I’m currently sat in a little room in Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. For the past 24 hours I’ve have lots of little probes stuck to my head with glue that monitor my brain waves. They’re making my head itch like hell, and upon removal will probably take half my hair and forehead skin with them!  I’m also sporting 2 heart monitors and some more probes on my shins.

Welcome to the wonderful and very clever world of diagnostic telemetry.

Last night I had to video myself sleeping. I’d love to be a fly on the wall when the hospital staff watch the first 5 minutes.

Oh lordy, my boyfriend unaware it was filming kept walking past in just his boxers, doing a weird dance and introducing himself to the camera. Continue reading
