Beauty | What’s in your makeup bag?

When Joanne from Opposable Thumbs recently did a blog post on what’s in her makeup bag she tagged a few of her fellow bloggers to join in. Of course I jumped at the the chance; nosy by name, nosy by nature. It’s something that fascinates me. What do ‘real’ people actually put on their faces?

How about you?

Do you want to see what’s in my makeup bag ?

Yes … great stuff please walk this way.

No … you have my permission to leave now

First up I just need to clarify I have loads of makeup in boxes scattered all around the bedroom. Tonnes of the bloody stuff. Drives the BF crazy.

I’ve not featured any eyeshadow palettes ; I apply eye shadow in the morning and leave the sets behind on my dressing room table. You can read all about my eye-makeup routine // HERE

I don’t wear foundation so there’s non of that featured either.

This is the [rather mucky …in need of a wash ] makeup bag I won. Yay go me. This is the one I carry around with me on a daily basis. This is the makeup I tend to wear most days; I use for touch ups when I’m out etc.

All these products have been bought by myself.

The Full Contents

Skin :

I always use a sunscreen; having had various treatments in the past i.e peels, derma rolling I don’t want to undo all the hard work. I always try and use an SPF 50 where possible. The sun is my enemy !

Heliocare colour gel cream light is great as it protects with a hint of colour. I was given a few samples by the lovely ladies at Medispa S10 . It’s ideal to pop in my makeup bag.

Rimmel Hide the Blemish in light is my choice of spot concealer. I apply it with a little brush and blend. I’ve used it forever and I’ve honestly never found anything that works as well for me. I grab mine from Boots -£3.99

Glossier Stretch Concealer is amazing to disguise under eye darkness and for making you look awake when you might not necessarily feel it. Its non drying and was love at first use . I raved about it // HERE

The Right Light ‘Starlight’ by Trinny London is an amazing highlighter that I’ve only recently discovered. I dab it on the top my cheekbones , end of my nose and above my top lip. It gives me subtle glow // HERE

L’Oréal Le Blush 146 Rosewood is the blusher I’ve been using for a while now, it’s a nice subtle peachy pink. I have however recently been sent a blusher to try from Glo Skin Beauty which I’m liking a lot. It may be a serious contender to the Blush throne. I’ll keep you posted .

Lips

I chop and change when it comes to my lippie but I’m loving the current combination of products I’m using.

Don’t laugh or judge me but I’ve been using a Rimmel Brow pencil to line my lips for years! Yes you heard correctly a brow pencil. It’s my one staple. I’m so 1980!

Rimmel Professional eyebrow pencil in Hazel creates a lovely line. £3.99 from Boots

I fluctuate between this and Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat In ‘Pillow Talk’ which I recently rediscovered.

I then fill in with:

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick ‘Patina’ This is a sample size that a lovely lady [Diana] sent me and one that I will definitely be repurchasing. It’s highly pigmented and lasts. It can be quite drying so I add a dab of

Primark Lipstick ‘Like That’ £2.00 or thereabouts in store … to the centre of my bottom lip, followed by a slick of

Trinny London Lip Glow ‘Maddie’ over the top which creates a lovely shine and makes your lips pop. I wasn’t sure about this at product at first but it’s really grown on me. I use it all the time!

Eyes

I’m all about the eyes.

THE BEST MASCARA I’ve ever used is Max Factor False Effect in Black. I’ve tried a lot and always come back to this. £10.99 from Boots.

Saying that I am currently using Lancome Hypnose which was a gift from one of my best friends this Christmas. [I have Amazing mates]. It’s a great mascara that creates fabulous full lashes.

I luckily have long lashes but always curl them to make them look their best . I use a bog standard pair of curlers from Boots. I think these were about £4.00

I always line my upper and lower waterline and have been using the same eyeliner for years and years simply because it’s the best. It has great depth and staying power. I can’t rave about Lancome Le Crayon Khol 01 Noir enough.

I actually have 2 pencils on the go … I’m so scared of losing one I have a back up. Tracey without black eyeliner is like chicken without the chips ! #rubbish

Despite having had my brows micro-bladed [fading – need topping up ] I still fill my brows in and add definition. Benefit Goof Proof Brow pencil in shade 5 ticks all the boxes

I always carry a pair of tweezers around with me to pluck out any hairs that are bugging me … mainly the one that sprouts out of the bottom of my chin and grows at the speed of light !

So there you have it the contents of my everyday makeup bag in all its glory.

What’s in yours?

Until next time, Tracey x
