Introducing … Izabel London

“I fell for her in summer, my lovely summer girl,

From summer she is made, my lovely summer girl,

I’d love to spend a winter with my lovely summer girl,

But I’m never warm enough for my lovely summer girl,

It’s summer when she smiles, I’m laughing like a child,

It’s the summer of our lives; we’ll contain it for a while

She holds the heat, the breeze of summer in the circle of her hand…

I’d be happy with this summer if it’s all we ever had.” Maggie Stiefvater

Hasn’t it been a glorious week… and about blooming time I hear you all cry! I love it when the sun makes an appearance, it generally makes for a happier place.

Rather than grunt as people walk past you, they actually smile. Big toothy, happy with the world  smiles.

To be able to leave the house without your jacket on and feel the warmth on your skin rather than wetness and the cold is fabulous. Hello Vitamin D !!

To sit in the garden and have breakfast alfresco is maybe one of my favourite things to do.

Coffee alfresco

Cocktails alfresco … you get my drift!

The little things.

Arriving just in time to slip on and make the most of the last few days of sunshine came these couple of beauties. I’ve never been so happy to see my postman.

After a disastrous trip to Matalan the previous evening it was a welcome arrival. You may or may not have seen my hot sweaty faced rants over on instastories?

Basically it was far too hot to be shopping anyway hence the shiny face and while they had some nice stuff in… they had every ‘nice size’ bar mine. Mrs Average size 12 here [ though i do recon I’m a size 13 ideally] couldn’t find anything she liked in sizes other than 8’s or 22’s…I left feeling very-disgruntled.

So back to my dresses they are both from Izabel London, a company that is new to me.

After having a good old nebby through their website I can confirm they sell some lovely stuff. Everything from accessories and shoes to dresses, tops and jumpsuits. There is even a plus size section which I’m very pleased to see. [ sizes 16 to 28] The best bit is it’s all very reasonably priced.

I choose dresses because they are so easy to wear; in that you don’t need to find a top or bottoms to match. You throw it on , add accessories, a jacket and off you pop.

Floral Maxi Dress – £40.00

Is very much out of my comfort zone ; that being its long and floaty . I tend to steer away from maxi dresses for fear of looking as though I’ve left the house in just my nightie.

This is a size 12 which fits like a dream. I am 5ft 10 and with flats on this will be the perfect length.

I’m drawn to floral print on black at the moment. Remember my new Top Shop top? It’s such a striking combination.

Its light and airy with a deep v-neck which shows off just enough cleavage while remaining decent ! It has long sleeves that are elasticated around the cuff. This is great as I personally feel the dress looks better when the sleeves are ‘shoved’ up the arm slightly. Just add lots of arm candy.

I love it. I kinda feel like one of the Mamas & Papas … in Ibiza … circa 1974.

Take a look.

Tropical Wrap Front Dress – £20.00

I choose this as it’s a bright, fun and summery print which I feel will look great with a little denim jacket flung over it. [ should it turn cooler, which it will! ]

It gathers at the side to give the effect it’s tied and thank the heavens it’s knee-length!

It’s so hard [ especially at my height] to find dresses for summer that aren’t too short. #muffskinming I have a love-hate relationship with my knees but I’m honestly happiest when they are covered!

It comes in two colour-ways, this is pink. The other is green and while the print is the same it isn’t as bright. Ideal for those of you that prefer to be a little subtler.

I added some false tan,  colourful jewellery and we were good to go. It even makes my tattoo look pretty.

You’ll have to excuse our half stained decking. It’s not very instagrammable / bloggable is it ?!

Earrings below are from Top Shop [ the dog above is a nuisance!]

Unfortunately they are from a while ago now but they have some fabulous jewellery in at the moment. I’m always very impressed. Go take a peak I’m sure you’ll find something.

All in all I am so pleased with my first order from Izabel London. It’s definitely been ear-marked  so I can keep popping across to see what else catches my eye.

I’ve already spotted a couple of things! They are even offering free UK returns at the moment, though hopefully you’ll not want to send anything back.

Have you shopped with Izabel London before & if so what was your experience like?

All that’s left for now is to decide which one to wear today! Third world problems eh?!

Have a fabulous weekend

Until next time, Tracey x

Thankyou so much, I’m really pleased with them both. I think I’m converted to maxi dresses now and can see more being added to my wardrobe.

I love that black maxi dress, right up my street. I love a maxi dress. Sadly, being the height of a leprechaun, it would probably scrape on the floor with me if its full length on you

Thankyou. That’s my favourite too. I did feel abit odd wearing it at first only as I don’t tend to do maxi… converted!

Thanks for popping over & commenting x
