BEAUTY | Bath time pampering

Imagine for a moment if your will that David Attenborough and his film crew decided to follow me around to study and document my behavior in my natural habitat for a BBC special. Firstly it would be very weird and secondly they would be most likely to find me languishing in a hot, bubble bath …

I love nothing better than getting home from work, whipping my clothes off [ especially my bra ]  and climbing in for a long soak . I’ve been known to wallow for hours , especially in the Winter months, like a pig in mud.

So today I thought I’d share a few of my bathing essentials with you …  but firstly i like to set the scene. If I have the time I like to light a few tea-lights to create ambience and spritz the bathroom with something along the lines of Quietude Calming Mist from Temple Spa. I occasionally take a cup of coffee with me … a glass of fizz has been known along with a good book or magazine.

To be honest I don’t always have the time, I cant find the matches, or we’ve run out of milk ! But hey when it does happen it’s bloody lovely.

BEAUTY | the bumper edition

If you know me you’ll know the things that get me excited around the collar … chunky bars of milky chocolate, large cups of frothy coffee and good conversation. Nights out dancing. Bradley Cooper, Martin Kemp , DiNuzzo from NCIS … [ I know so many men]

and good skin care

I guess you can chop and change your wardrobe, replace old pieces with new , upgrade , but unless you go under the knife you can’t chop, change or upgrade your skin. You CAN however use products to improve the overall look and feel of the skin; keep the wrinkles at bay or soften any you may have. Saying that some wrinkles are a sign of a life well lived…I fully embrace my laughter lines.

I love a good pamper and I’m all over experiencing new procedures / self-love . I guess I just want to look the best version of myself .

Beauty | Holiday Routine

After posting some photos over on my stories while in Malaga last week, I had a few ladies ask me about my holiday makeup and beauty routine.

By a few make that 4 … [oh to be popular] but I thought it might make for some interesting reading and went with it anyway.

First off we only had a 10kg hand luggage allowance each which meant we were restricted on what we could take with us. Nothing bigger than a 100ml bottle and any liquids had to all fit in just one of those airport approved plastic bags.

I suppose we could have waited and transferred all our liquids across into a free bag at the airport. However to save messing around we [ rather Karen ] ordered some gear from Amazon, 2 plastic bags and 5 plastic bottles [ great to decanter shampoos, suncream etc. into ] for £6.00. I think Primark do something similar.

When I go away with the girls, I also know they’ll not be much time to ‘phaff’ or that I’ll get much sleep , so I pair it all down. Simple is best.

Beauty | Trufflelixir – Reveal your best skin …

I’m excited to share with you a skin-care product I’ve been using for the past month. It only launched today and I’ve been keeping ‘her’ identity firmly under wraps!

I feel so privileged to have been given this opportunity… anybody who knows me knows I’m skincare obsessed and just LOVE trying something new. [They also know I can’t hold my own water so keeping this under wraps has been a little victory to me! ]

It maybe my history of living with bad skin in the past that led me down this path. The constant search for products and treatments that deliver better skin … who knows ? but it’s one I enjoy pursuing.

So without further ado let me introduce you to … [drum roll ]

Beauty | Repose yourself for a good cause …

Hello Lovelies,

Can you believe it’s Friday already?! It only seems 2 minutes since I was recovering from my hangover … induced last Friday. Saying that hangovers in my 40’s do seem to take a chuffing week to  disappear.

I’ve had a lovely day . I met up with one of my mum’s best friends Anne. [ a beautiful soul inside & out] I’m making a conscious effort to do so; it’s what Mum would have wanted.

We sat and chatted [mainly about Mum] drank  copious amounts of coffee and I came home with a new book ‘Be a unicorn & live life on the bright side’ …

as you do at 46!

So I thought I’d pop on here today to tell you all about a rather fabulous offer Temple Spa has on.

October is Baby Loss Awareness Month; between Friday 13th and Sunday 22nd of October, it’s buy 1 get 1 free on Repose Aromatherapy Resting Cream. Even better for every Repose sold 10% of the sale will be donated to The Mariposa Trust.

The primary function of the charity is to support anyone who has been affected by the loss of a child at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy. Continue reading

Shall We Spa . . . Cha Cha Cha

It’s me again … twice in one week bloody hell wonders will never seize !

Today I’m going to be introducing you to a fabulous , intimate little day spa just outside Penistone. [Hollin Lane, Millhouse Green, Sheffield S36 9NH] It’s only 20 minutes from my house.

Oh oh I have a feeling this could be dangerous.

Smallshaw Cottages & Spa is A- mazing and if you don’t already know about it then you really should.

There are 4 beautiful cottages available to rent, complete with landscaped gardens and tennis courts . Today however I am concentrating and going to take you on a tour of the Spa.

Before I go any further I just need to clarify something with you – I don’t love everything.

You probably think I do and the reason for this would be because I only accept and feature on the blog things / places / experiences that interest me; that I would do or buy myself.

I turn down a lot of opportunities [ mobile phone covers , bingo nights, clothing ] or product reviews because they simply aren’t my bag.

If you make it this far … you are loved. I have enjoyed you.

I certainly enjoyed this.
