After posting some photos over on my stories while in Malaga last week, I had a few ladies ask me about my holiday makeup and beauty routine.
By a few make that 4 … [oh to be popular] but I thought it might make for some interesting reading and went with it anyway.
First off we only had a 10kg hand luggage allowance each which meant we were restricted on what we could take with us. Nothing bigger than a 100ml bottle and any liquids had to all fit in just one of those airport approved plastic bags.
I suppose we could have waited and transferred all our liquids across into a free bag at the airport. However to save messing around we [ rather Karen ] ordered some gear from Amazon, 2 plastic bags and 5 plastic bottles [ great to decanter shampoos, suncream etc. into ] for £6.00. I think Primark do something similar.
When I go away with the girls, I also know they’ll not be much time to ‘phaff’ or that I’ll get much sleep , so I pair it all down. Simple is best.
Bioderma Solution Micellaire Water -100ml
This was great … and that was some view!
I know I’m going to sound totally lazy here [ don’t judge me ] but when your crawling in at ‘daft o clock’ and are slightly worse for wear I would soak a couple of cotton wool balls in this. I’d lie on my bed, remove all my makeup and not have to move again. I’m usually a double cleanse , mask, derma roller kinda girl – this was just quick, easy and effective.
Sunglasses [ above] bought off a ‘lucky lucky man’ on the beach for 8 euros.
After cleansing and considering I’d not dropped off during the process I’d apply my moisturiser with a couple of drops of Swiss Clinic self tan drops in.
The tan drops are great if like me you wear ‘factor garage door’ on your clock and want some colour. You just add a couple of drops to your moisturiser and rub in as normal . Just be careful not to be too cack-handed especially after a few drinks. You don’t want to resemble an umpa lumpa man the next morning do you?!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I’m the lady with the bronzed body and white face. Not my best look. This helps.

For moisturiser / eye cream and to save precious space I took a few samples that I had hanging around. These are ideal to take away with you when you are only away from home for 4 nights and have restrictions.
Night Night Campers!
In the morning [ which worked out about 3 hours later !] I splashed my face with water and cleansed again with the Bioderma Micellaire water. I then applied sunscreen to my face and body.
I took a couple of options with me for my face both SPF 50; I won’t use anything less.

I stated earlier that we don’t usually phaff around too much with our skincare , well we don’t usually! However on the Saturday afternoon Karen produced a contour mask for us all to try and boy did we laugh.
We look like we are part of a serial killer convention . Gawd knows what the neighbours thought ?? The mask however was actually very nice. My skin felt lovely afterwards [and my belly hurt from laughing]
MAKE-UP
My various holiday looks …
To be honest my routine on holiday is not that much different to that at home, so I’ll not bore you with all the details.
I never wear foundation. I’ve mentioned this a hundred times before too. [ I’m like a broken record ] It just tends to make my skin feel clogged up and as I suffer with spots it’s the last thing I need.
I do however love and wear ZO Skin Health Oclipse Sunscreen and Primer SPF 30.
It’s got the most wonderfully light consistency, it’s slightly tinted and leaves my skin looking and feeling lovely. A big plus is it’s also SPF 30. It was recommended to me by the guys at Yuva MediSpa and they know their stuff !
After application my skin looks more even and as it’s so light it feels as though I’ve got nothing on my skin. We like this.
I set with my Rimmel Translucent powder and then go to town with the bronzer. I had a lot of colour to build up to match my chest I can tell you !

The thing everybody seems to ask me about is my eye makeup. I’ve posted about the full products I use a few times before which you can read / HERE
For this trip I took just the one palette with me. Just the bloody one – I know eye makeup queen here – it killed me!
The MaxFactor Masterpiece Nude Palette – 01 Cappuccino Nudes has a brown and cream to cover every occasion and it seemed the ideal choice to take away.
I love this palette almost as much as I love my Max FactorFalse Lash Effect Mascara in black .I’m repeating myself a lot today but this is my all time favourite mascara !
Just add lashings of Lancôme 01 Noir Khol pencil on your upper and lower waterline and jobs a good en. Some people think wearing black eye-liner this way is aging. Personally I think it makes your eyes pop and I will probably wear it forever . If it’s good enough for Kate Moss …
I find on holiday when your slightly tanned you can stand to a-slightly bolder lip colour. Some of the lipsticks I usually wear become very dull looking.
Luckily I have a stash of lippies and lip glosses that I’ve purchased on a whim or on previous holidays that I find too bright to wear back in the UK .
The brands name and colour reference have worn off but I can tell you they are a selection of bright corals and pinks . These all come along with me for their annual once a year outing! I only took one eye shadow palette but made up for it in lipgloss! I think I took 6 or 7!
So there you have it.
Obviously I do think people tend to look a little more sparkly on holiday because well … they are on holiday ! You got that sunshine happy glow about you.
If you’ve got any questions or suggestions for me regards holiday makeup then I’d love to hear as always in the comments below. Hopefully I’ll get away again this year . Fingers crossed. I’m hankering after discovering more new places.
And as always thank-you for popping by. Without you , they’d really be no point ! [ but I would still be here because I love it]
Until next time,
Tracey x
