HEATH |Eyeye Sheffield… I see you !

There are various situations that send me into a mild panic ; make me anxious .

  • Flying
  • Being near sharks [ not that I rarely ever am. I don’t get to Sea World that often ]
  • Attending my eye test earlier this week.

I had been worried about my eyes [especially my right one] which over the last few weeks have felt heavy and hard to open in the morning – on awakening it felt like my eye was stuck to the inside of my eye-lid. Eekkk I know .

It was freaking me out to the extent I daren’t sleep for fear I’d not be able to open my eyes ever again! [ I’ve always been a bit dramatic ]

Rather than ignore it and hope it would go away [ something I promised mum I’d never do ] I booked in with favourite opticians Eyeye in Sheffield to get it checked out.

Unfortunately not everything in life can be resolved by sticking on some Barry White , turning up the volume and dancing around your living room like a woman possessed .

STYLE | the one where I talk about River Island dresses …

I’m still bloody singing Cliff Richards ‘Wired for Sound‘ I’m starting to not only do everybody else’s heads in , but even my own now !

If you’re not sure what I’m talking about because lets face not everybody follows me over on Instagram . I woke up yesterday morning with this song running around in my head which I’ve proceeded to sing / hum / whistle for the past 24 hours. I’m sure the last time I heard this tune was around 1984 so gawd knows where it came from , or rather what I was dreaming about last night !

Me and Cliff * shudders *

In an attempt to rid my mind of this ‘evil’ I thought that now would be the ideal time to grab a big coffee and talk to you about dresses. More specifically a couple of dresses from River Island that I received earlier this week.

STYLE | Teal Appeal

“Teal is a deep blue-green colour; a dark cyan

Teal gets its name from the coloured area around the eyes of the common teal, a member of the duck family.”

Hey up its me, sat typing and sweltering. I’m at work and I really want to whip my bra, pants and dress off. Not my best idea. But hey … anybody else feeling the same vibe…

Apart from the glorious weather – this week has kicked off to a grand start. I’ve only gone and bloody won a dress over on instagram! I know, I know … go me!

I don’t often do fashion posts ; I’m hardly the most fashionable person on the planet . I personally think people should wear what the bloody hell they want too. It’s clothing not rocket science. It should be fun and it should also be a reflection of you, whether it’s ‘ in fashion‘ or not. #youdoyou

Introducing | Asquith London

My mum used to call me Mrs Gunna , “gunna do this, gunna do that . . .

She has a point I guess [ aren’t mums always right!] I am full of broken promises. Mainly that I’ll start to do some more exercise , get fit and run that marathon I keep threatening to do . Yes this is something I often spout on about, usually during the weeks following the London Marathon when I’m feeling suitably inspired.

So when Asquith London approached me to road-test some of their clothes I was chuffed [ I always am when I get offered to work with a brand ] I thought ha ha I’ll show them all. If I look the part , maybe just maybe I’ll feel it too and get off my arse and do something.

Makes sense right?

Style | Anyone for tennis… sorry cricket 🏏

Is there anything more British than wearing a cricket jumper especially as Wimbledon fast approaches? I know, I know … I do realise Wimbledon is tennis [ and not anyway cricket rated ] but it’s sport non the less … and I’m sure you get my general drift!

They’re both very British … ones taken with strawberry’s , the other cucumber sandwiches … you don cool jumpers for both.

I’m not fussy either way…

Style | KT by Jennifer Hamley

For 14 years I worked as Office Manager at a large design company based in Wakefield. I loved it there [for the most part] but like most good things unfortunately it came to a an end

I suppose during my time there I liked to look the part. I used to love getting ready for work ; smart dresses, trouser suits, neat hair and immaculate makeup . Stilettos; the higher the better [ this was my pre- dodgy foot era ]. Power dressing when you didn’t feel that confident / know what you were doing was the quickest way to fool everybody into thinking you were and that you did !

There was just one thing I always felt was missing. I always hankered after a brief case one that was both stylish and practical.

I never got one. I used to juggle various bags often forgetting where I’d put things, or leaving essentials at home! Having to carry my laptop in a separate bag [usually of the plastic kind!]

Fast forward a few years …
