Things to do in Sheffield … #cityguide

I was on twitter a few weeks ago and came across a tweet from a lady asking what there was to do in Sheffield? Her and her partner had a few hours to kill and were wandering around the city centre aimlessly, and bored!

Bored in Sheffield, surely not?

I am bias.

I was born and bred here amongst these seven hills and Sheffield really is a  such a great city with a lot to offer .

We all associate Sheffield with the steel industry but did you also know that it has a canal, some great parks and that it is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Clearing the clutter… My wardrobe over haul

My friend Sue has put me to shame and has recently had a de-clutter getting rid of over half her wardrobe. When we met up last week she enthused about how good it felt to get rid of the old to make way for the new.

She has ‘cleansed’ her wardrobe and it was genuinely making her happy?

Alien to me…

I’m a hoarder.

I chuck nothing!

I always fear I’ll regret it and that said items will suddenly come back ‘in’ and have their day. My yellow shoes are testament to this!! Continue reading

Spot light on Mandy’s Heaven…

So what would you consider the absolute best way to start a Monday would be?

Chocolate I hear you cry.

Well yes always… but apart from that.

Ok a lie-in would be rather nice also…

With Bradley Cooper… Now where being just plain silly (and a tad unrealistic) Nope non of the above, I’m talking parcels.

Parcels that have my name on.

Parcels full of goodies.

Goodies  from Mandy’s Heaven that are all for little old me.

Ssssssnake skin shoes and boyfit denim

I’m getting my shopping mojo back…I think? I still can’t get very enthused about much, I blame the search for (the perfect) green sequin dress before Christmas. It sent me over the edge. The £100 Debenhams gift voucher remains firmly in tack, in my back pocket. Listen to this… I actually considered putting it towards a new hoover! Things are really that bad.

Today however I’ve picked up a fab little bargain in the form of a pair of flat snake skin lace-up shoes. They were all of £8.00 from Primark!

I love them

‘The Place’ to be seen…ladies that lunch

Today is date day, or rather ladies that lunch day.

I try to meet up with Sue every couple of weeks for a girlie catch up and to grab some nice grub!

Today’s choice of eatery – That Place  – was Sue’s suggestion. It’s somewhere I’ve not visited before.

It was most needed. I’ve had what can only be described as the ‘week from hell‘ and not the best start to 2016 …

My car broke down on Monday and was out of action for 3 whole days. Our heating consequently blew up at the same time, resulting in no heating or hot water for a couple of days. We have ripped the kitchen out to the bare bones and just have a very lonely looking Belfast sink.

We are currently living off the remnants of Christmas – crackers and cheese, pate, mince pies and Chinese take-away. I have mince pie belly.

I’m still finding bloody big slimy worms all over the house and one of the pesky cats was sick all over the new settee.

The icing on the cake – I pulled my chuffing back out, and I’m coming down with cold. My throat is scratchy and sore.

Yes… a girlie lunch was just what I needed – that or numerous bottles of alcohol. As my boyfriend kept telling me “your not nice if your not warm, have access to a hot bath and food”.

That Place is situated  at 845 Chesterfield Road,  Woodseats, Sheffield opposite the KFC. From the outside if I’m honest ,it doesn’t look up to much.

When you walk in however it’s a totally different story. Although fairly small it’s beautifully decorated with an amazing ‘book’ feature wall and union jack settee.

It’s a little hidden gem. Continue reading

Checks and Bows …#OOTD

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I spotted this shirt in M& S Limited Edition Collection on Saturday. I told myself I didn’t need it …

Turns out I did as it kept playing on my mind.

I went home, pondered around the house for an hour. Still thinking about it.

Had some lunch. Yep, still thinking about it.

Deciding I couldn’t live with-out it (I’m prone to be dramatic!)  I placed an order for it on line. It’s new stock so all sizes were available and it’s currently priced at £29.50 plus £3.99 delivery.

It arrived today … Yay!
