Meet Tracey

However you ended up on this page we are very glad you did. HELLO ! We hope you’ll stick around a little while longer and explore the blog some-more.

The Naughty Forty Diaries used to comprise of Tracey and Liz, 2 ladies from Yorkshire

Liz has however recently taken a back seat due to health / family issues so you’ll be seeing a lot less of her and a lot more of Tracey.

Liz sadly stopped writing on the blog in 2017. We miss her ❤️

We have a love for life.

We have a huge interest in fashion. We love a good night out, all things beauty related, food, [especially cake] photography and travel.

We may be ‘mature’ ladies but we still enjoy life and try where possible to give the youngsters a run for their money. Don’t they say older and wiser??

Our main objective is to keep it real and define what makes us [ and you ] different. You will often hear us talking about our peri-menopausal ever increasing waistlines, bingo wings and camels toes. We don’t believe in taking ourselves too seriously!

We both work outside of this blog ; Tracey juggles a couple of part-time jobs while she tries to break into writing!

This is just a little insight into what keeps us out of mischief when we aren’t there.

Tracey is a wannabe children’s book writer. She loves fashion but has no formal training. Often found with her head in Vogue; she knows a lot about nothing so she’s maybe not the best person to ask for fashion advice. However some of her outfits might hopefully inspire you… especially her bag-lady chic.

She loves Coffee and Cake , Freddo frogs….and men in nice suits. You’ll often hear her talking about custard and Bradley Cooper

Tracey Loves the Cake …

A Romanticiser. She wishes life was like an episode of Glee but with the wardrobe of Carrie Bradshaw. ‘All singing and dancing‘ is her idea of perfect.

Eyes – green.
Hair – a mixture of all sorts…hankering after pink.
Skin – temperamental.
Height – 5ft 10.
Dress size – Usually a 14 depending where she shops. Size 22 in Zara 🥴
Shoe size – 6 with a very dodgey right foot.
Self confessed geek.
Soundtrack to my lifeHeart of Glass – Blondie // Ziggy Stardust – David Bowie // Never Forget – Take That // I am , I said – Neil Diamond // November Rain – Guns & Roses // Iris – Goo Goo Dolls // Landslide – Fleetwood MAC
Weakness – Mini eggs, Freddo frogs, McDonald’s chocolate milk shakes and a man wearing a good suit.
Famous for – amongst other things… drinking a pint of Guinness in 9 seconds, her ever-changing hair styles and surviving Island hopping around the Greek Islands for 7 weeks with just a tiny back pack and no hair-dryer!

Very proud to have been born and bred in Sunny Sheffield.

Living with Cataplexy for the last 10 years and having recently lost her beloved mum and best friend to Vaginal Cancer Tracey wants to raise awareness of both and help others deal with their grief.

Liz hails from Wakefield and is a yummy mummy to her 2 children Naomi and Jamie.

Please tell us what you love or you might not love so much about our blog. Its always nice to receive feedback. We maybe a couple of over 50’s but we don’t bite. Well not that hard anyway!

Lastly some important bumf …

We very occasionally may use affiliate links within the blog [where relevant]. We would however never push a product onto anybody that we didn’t love ourselves just to make money. The amount we make per item is usually pence, but hey, every little helps right!?

[It helps buy cake!]

Speaking of cake … we have a ‘Ladies who Lunch’ spot. This is basically an excuse for us to go out and enjoy a nice meal; it is worth noting however that we don’t have any qualifications in the food industry. We just like what we like and try to base the review fairly using the following criteria, but in our style which is very chatty and basic.

* value for money * atmosphere *service

We occasionally get invited for a meal by the establishment itself but 95% of the time it’s usually off our own backs and paid for by ourselves.

We are often joined on our Ladies that Lunch dates by our fabulous friend and big supporter of the blog – Sue.

She’s a ‘naughty 60’ and it’s good to get her input too. We’ve got the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s covered!
