Ladies that Lunch |Veeno – Wine tasting and Food Pairing #sheffieldlife

It’s been an eventful few weeks ; Bonkers Bingo at Mecca Bingo, the Crucible Theatre to see Frost/Nikon. Then getting invited to eat out at one of the restaurants participating in Dine Sheffield – 8 Oz Burger Co.

It all accumulated last Thursday with an evening wine tasting with my friend Rach at Veeno Italian Wine Cafe, Ecclesall Road, Sheffield.

If your not familiar with Veeno it’s probably because it’s fairly new, having only opened its doors to the public a few months ago. Its a hop, skip and a jump away from Nonnas and it is situated in the building that used to house Carluccios Restaurant.

What’s new Sheffield?

If you’re in the city at any point during the next few months I thought I’d share some places with you that are new [ish] on the Sheffield scene .

There’s something for everyone … the beauty obsessive , fashionista and the lush!

PUBLIC BAR

I first heard about this place after I was tipped off about it by a friend on Instagram. I popped across and started following them immediately . Their feed was all very cryptic and hush-hush.

I’m by no means a saint (far from it)  but I always tell them that I’m not bothered; to buy me whatever and to not spend a fortune?

When I was a kid I would  spend hours upon hours dribbling over toys from Kays catalogue making lists galore. Lists on top of lists. Now a days its not so important.

I’ve found recently that Christmas has been about a lot more than just pressies. Of course its always nice to unwrap something special but it’s not the be all and end all. Continue reading

Food, Goss, Beauty Boxes and Cows…@ The Kaye Arms

A good ol’ girly get together always involves food.  We were long overdue another ‘catch up’, photo shoot and blog post and this time The Kaye Arms, Grange Moor, Wakefield was our host. It has recently been refurbished and we wanted to check out both the new decor and the food.

Armed with what seemed like a dozen cameras and Liz’s daughter Naomi in tow to add a bit of colour to the evening, we set up our impromptu ‘camera club’ and ordered much needed food.

But not before a quick snap!!
