The end … Marbella Diaries

So as with most good things they come and go far too quickly for my liking.

I had been looking forward to my weekend in Marbella with the ladies for what seemed like forever and it was over in a flash … just like that !

So how did we spend our last day?

Having not really left the villa during the day to explore , we decided today was the day we would venture out to Orange Square in Marbella’s Old Town.

I had heard reports it was amazing and very beautiful.

Having only had a few hours sleep, hung over but feeling surprisingly chirpy , 6 of the 10 booked taxis for 11.00am.

We had strict instructions from Leigh ( who decided to have a lazy day around the pool) that we had to be back at 5.00pm.

We had no idea why but promised we would be.

Old Town Marbella was approximately a 20 minute taxi drive from the villa and cost €24 (about £20.00) which between a few of you doesn’t break the bank.

By golly was it worth it  … when we eventually found her.

Head upwards towards the mountains , not towards the sea like we did initially !

Things to do in Sheffield … #cityguide

I was on twitter a few weeks ago and came across a tweet from a lady asking what there was to do in Sheffield? Her and her partner had a few hours to kill and were wandering around the city centre aimlessly, and bored!

Bored in Sheffield, surely not?

I am bias.

I was born and bred here amongst these seven hills and Sheffield really is a  such a great city with a lot to offer .

We all associate Sheffield with the steel industry but did you also know that it has a canal, some great parks and that it is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Summer House in Spring …#ladiesthatlunch40

When the suns feeling flirty,  it’s (slightly) warm outside and the daffodils  are popping up left, right and centre it makes me want to grab some friends, find a nice bar and partake in some good conversation, serious eating and drinking

Alfresco of course . You really can’t beat it…

I’m often heard saying “England is rather beautiful when it’s sunshining out” (like a record , over the summer months)

Yesterday ticked several of those boxes and with my usual Friday lunch partner Sue being out of the country for a few weeks (the lucky buggars over in Spain ) I grabbed the Mr and off we popped.

Well truth be known, The Mr actually suggested we go out for lunch. I’m glad as I didn’t want him to think he was a second best option.

Having heard good reports about The Summerhouse we decided we should head there… Ok so he’s not a lady but what’s details between friends eh? Let’s pretend.

I put my glad rags on and he got suited and booted.

All the Pinks and Greys

I’m wearing pale pink jumper dress (kindly gifted from Mandy’s Heaven) with River Island skinny fit jeans, Avon leopard print scarf and my ‘Larry the Lamb’ coat from Primark.

I’m also giving my new bag from Debenhams an outing along  with my bargain snakeskin shoes from Primark … they were all of £8.00!

This is one of the bags I bought the other day and I love it. Its pretty but also big enough to get all my ‘bumf’ in  …camera, notepad , make-up etc etc …or as my mum refers to it – everything including the kitchen sink! Continue reading

#Ladies that Lunch – Vintage Tea Rooms

A couple of weeks ago I stated that ‘Ladies that lunch’ would be a weekly feature…Every Friday or thereabouts.

The words me and my big mouth spring to mind… Fail!

A funeral put pay to last weeks venture and my partner in crime unfortunately wasn’t available.

The previous week I had to cancel and dash across town on a mercy mission to help my friend sort out some flights.

You know I mentioned that we are going to Marbella in June?

Well we almost weren’t…

Seeing the new year in Italian Style…

As with most posts, this one wasn’t planned.

Let’s just say some thing’s are just too good not to share; like my love of the films Spatacus and Jason and the Argonauts…I could recite them both to you, but I won’t. Not today anyway.

Plus I’m nice like that.

You may have  guessed by now that the Mr and I are pretty crap when it comes to planning anything. Remember ‘Tap-gate’ from a couple of weeks ago?

He calls me gonna…‘gonna do this, gonna do that’. We were planning to go away on New Years Eve for a few days but life happened. Basically we lost all sense of time , what day it was, what time it was even and it never got booked.

Dah.

Like I said  crap! Continue reading
