Date Night Feast Box #justusbox

I really didn’t know what to expect when I was asked if I’d like to review  a Date Night box but it sounded interesting so I said I’d, or rather we would love too.

We received the ‘Feast’ Date Night Box which was described as follows …

This month we’re going to tantalise your tastebuds and take you on a voyage of gourmet discovery . The question is do you have a taste for each other too?!

Oh er …

I had images of the boyfriend  laid horizontal, smothered in food which I ate off him and vice versa! I chuckled/shuddered/felt a little bit sick remembering a disastrous date I once had which involved some chocolate spread.

Our box arrived a week or so later in all its glory; a large sturdy cardboard box. Inside was an instruction booklet and several smaller boxes each labelled up- starter, main course, dessert and bedtime treat.

Quite cleverly they look like little ‘take-away’ boxes.

StarterNapkin Origami

Contents : Napkins, 2 packets of Joe & Sephs popcorn and a couple of candles.

We didn’t do the napkin folding . It’s not something that interested either of us, we have no patience and would have no doubt ended up arguing. Not good on a date!

We did however devour the popcorn which was rather delicious and lit the candles.

Ambience set.

We then had our tea.

There is a receipe enclosed for Slow Cooked Lamb Casserole. I’m not a fan of Lamb but it did look delicious . We plumped for a stir fry. It’s quick  and easy.

Then it was back to our box of goodies…

Main – Chocolate Tasting.

Contents : Box of 6 tasting chocolates by Wicked & Wonderful & 2 sachets of Galaxy hot chocolate.

The BF had spied the delicious looking chocolates. Oh Oh.

Despite me hiding the box as I know what he’s like,  he bloody found it. By the time we had got around to this ‘course’ a couple of chocolates had miraculously disappeared. He insisted he’d not eaten them. He’s a chuff, but his cheek and blatant lie made me laugh.

We were set some challenges –

LOVE – melt some of your favourite chocolate around your mouth and tongue and kiss your partner so they can taste it too, can you guess the flavour.

LAUGH – chat about the different places where this chocolate comes from and where you would like to visit and why.

LUST – chocolate is an aphrodisiac as it contains the chemical PEA which reaches peak levels in the brain during orgasm, why don’t you test it out?!

We chatted about places we’d like to visit and places we had been. As for the rest of the challenges we couldn’t do them for laughing. We don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Dessert – Elderberry Vodka Jelly

Contents : Hartleys jelly cubes , bottle of Anno Distillers Elderflower Vodka  and 2 glasses

I made the jelly the night before as instructed.

I love vodka, I love  jelly. Put them together and you can’t fail.

They went down a treat.

Both of them.

The BF doesn’t do jelly (more fool him)

It’s suggested you use your partners body as a serving plate and enjoy some new flavours…

The Verdict:

We have never been the most serious of couples and we are by no means prudes however some of the suggestions made me , in particular, cringe.

What it did do however was make us laugh. A lot. Laughing is never a bad thing in my books.

I’ve also discovered Joe & Sephs Caramel and Sea salt pop-corn . Where have you been all my life?  I shall definitely be seeking out and re-purchasing.

The box costs £30 and is a monthly subscription . The more months you subscribe too the cheaper it becomes. Three months subscription works out at £29.00 per box, six months at £27.00.

It’s a really nice idea and you can see that a lot of thought has gone into the contents to make sure it’s a little different and unusual.

To be honest I’m not sure it’s something I’d subscribe to every month but it’s something I would dip and dive into depending on the theme of the box.

You can subscribe or just read more about how the Just Us Box works // HERE if you enter NAUGHTY10 at checkout you will receive 10% discount.

Does the idea of a Date Box appeal to you?

Have you ever tried a Date Box?  … I’d love to hear about it.

Until next time, Tracey x
