I know, I know it’s not the end of September yet …but I didn’t do an August favourites. There was quite a lot going off and I never got around to it.
This you may say is an August / mid September favourites! (hey I like to be different)
First up is a lipstick I’ve been wearing morning, noon and night.
NYX matte lipstick in ‘MLS19 – Euro Trash’ – a perfect highly pigmented pink / deep beige.
I’m loving matte lipsticks at the moment, which doesn’t mean I’ve abandoned my gloss. The matte is just having it’s moment.
I put it on and it stays there – no running up my face in the little lines I have above my lip. Many a time I’ve gone to the ladies and despaired as I looked in the mirror. Lip-gloss every where seemingly apart from my lips!
It’s creates a bold lip without being too much in your face. My only negative would be that it doesn’t have great staying power but nothing a quick re-apply wouldn’t fix.
I’ve tried a few products from NYX , I’m also a big fan of the lip butters.
Purse friendly this Matte lipstick set me back just £6.50 and I purchased it from Boots. There’s a great range of shades with something to suit everybody.
A new addition to my favourites is Pai Rosehip Bio Regenerate Oil.
I sent off for the free 2-week trail sample, which is a great idea. I’m all for try before you buy. I’ve wasted fortunes in the past on products that just don’t suit my skin.
I saw the offer over on Facebook , filled the form in and to be honest didn’t think I’d hear or receive anything. Nobody gives anything away for free these days without some sort of catch?
Imagine my surprise and delight when it popped through my post-box a couple of weeks ago.
Although its very early days , first impressions are its a great product.
Pai BioRegenerate Rosehip Oil is rich in concentrated Trans-Retinoic Acid, an essential fuel for the skin’s natural repair function.
Rosehip is the ultimate skin multi-tasker. With regular use, it conditions the skin, improving skin firmness and elasticity. Reduces hyperpigmentation due to melasma, sun damage, scarring and fine lines with daily use over 6-8 weeks.
Pub quiz fact – Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil Blend won Organic Miracle Worker at the Harpers Bazaar Beauty Awards 2011.
Sounds just the ticket. Just what my skin needs – I have some scarring that needs tackling.
I use it on an evening after cleansing and toning. As my skin is fairly greasy I skip moisturiser, which they do recommend.
It’s quite a thick, orange-coloured dry oil which smells like a spa (you know that healthy smell) . It sinks in easily and leaves my skin non-greasy. My skin feels great and as of yet I’ve not had any break-outs.
Fingers crossed.
I’ll keep you updated.
A 30ml bottle costs £22.00 // HERE and currently has free delivery.
An oldie but a goodie and one that I’ve recently re-discovered is Jouer luminizing moisture tint SPF 20
It’s so good I’m not really sure why I stopped using it?
Well tell a lie, I do. I always think there will be something bigger and better. I’m forever being swayed by new exciting products.
The grass it seems isn’t always greener…
It’s an illuminating, tinted moisturiser that’s lightweight and lasts all day. It’s also water resistant.
Moisture Tint is a mineral-rich, complexion enhancer that creates a unified surface to your skin. It adds light-diffusing minerals that visually blur away fine lines and add a youthful luminosity.
Yay to that … at 45 I need all the help I can get!
The genius element and probably the reason why my skin likes it so much is because it is an oil-free, hypoallergenic cream which is not just cosmetic. It also has a non-chemical SPF 20 (UVA & B physical block) and fights ageing free radicals with antioxidants Ginseng and Gingko Biloba Leaf Extract.
I can’t recommend it enough especially if you are like me and you don’t like to feel anything on your face.
It’s very light-weight and gives a lovely sheer coverage.
It just makes my skin look better and that is priceless…
It costs £30.00 for 50ml and can be purchased through Cult Beauty // HERE
So there you have it my ‘mid-month favourites’ a-little bit late or a-little bit early …you decide.
Right I’m just off to have a cup of BOOTEA which is a detox tea I’ve been taking for the past few weeks.
Despite seemingly spending an age on the loo, it is quite nice .I don’t think your supposed to accompany it with a Freddie Frog chocolate bar mind … oh well.
But more on that next month.
What are you channelling this month? I’d love to hear…
Until next time, Tracey x
I’m not a fan of matte lipsticks as I find they make my lips look too dry so. i tend to stick to lip gloss HOWEVER I love the colour of the NYX lipstick so much I’m tempted to give it a whirl. 😊
I found it weird at first … I’m a total lip gloss girl but after a while I got used to it and got a few compliments. ( which is always nice) There are some fab colours and not a bad price. Thankyou for your comment x
