Skincare , green stuff and Mulled wine

Good Morning all,

Today’s a skin update post…

Will it be a spot free, bright eyed and bushy tailed  Christmas? Oh I do hope so and I have the products to hopefully ensure I do. If there’s one thing I could wish for at Christmas it would be spot free skin. That would do me just fine.I’ve had my fair share of the blighters…

So while I was very impressed with the Pixi Mud Cleanser, I have been swayed by  another.  PRIORI, a brand I had not heard of before.

I was watching a Vlog by the beautiful red-head Megs of Wonderful You and was surprised to find out that she too had suffered with bad skin in the past. Her skin looks amazing now btw . I wanted to know her secret…

To cut a long story short, after a consultation with Courthouse Clinics it was recommended she use  a range of products from the PRIORI range, along with some treatments that they offer.

I was on the internet and ordering myself the PRIORI AHA Gentle Facial cleanser within minutes..

I’m currently researching and looking into the treatments mentioned (one for another post maybe)

PRIORI Gentle Facial Cleanser , John Lewis towels and Bubble bath from Avon -Mr & Mrs Frosty!!

It arrived days later and I excitedly ripped it open to view my goodies.

The Cleanser is a ‘treatment cleanser’ and gently exfoliates your skin on a daily basis. It is water based, oil free and suitable for all skin types.

I couldn’t wait to try it.

I’m currently using the cleanser both morning and evening, followed by the Pixie Glow Tonic and then a moisturiser, currently Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturising cream ( a sample-size freebie )

You only need a tiny amount of cleanser which I work into moistened hands , lather and  massage into my skin concentrating on areas of concern.  Mainly my chin and jawline. Time allowing I tend to leave it for a few minutes before rinsing off. It leaves my skin feeling incredibly clean . I can honestly say that since I have been using it the condition of my skin has improved and while I am still getting the odd spot it is nothing like before. I am hoping that as I continue to use and add other products from the range,  it will improve further.

Key ingredients  (for those who like the techy bit)

  • 13% LCA Complex ; 12% L-Lactic compound + 1% MFAS (multi -function antioxidant sequence)
  • Anti-irrant complex
  • Allantoin Glycyrrhetinic Acid
  • Bisabolol
  • Sucrose Cocoate
  • Portulaca Oleracea Extract

That probably just sounds like a load of gobbledy-gook , it did to me!

I’m so impressed I’m going to order  the Perfection Facial Gel and Cellular Recovery Serum later today.

Good skin… could you be mine.

At last.

Its only taken 44 years!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Anew Clinical Absolute Even – on offer £12.00 usually £19.50

Anew Clinical Absolute Even – caught me eye while I was flicking through mum’s Avon book a couple of weeks ago. It’s an eye cream to treat dark circles.

When I was a little girl  it was Kay’s Catalogue, I spent hours making lists of what I wanted. Nowadays it’s The Avon Book! They’ve got some great stuff in stock for the festive season, ideal little stocking fillers. Mr & Mrs Frosty for example. Bath times just got a lot better ( and a lot bubbler!)

Anyway I digress.

I don’t sleep that well . I say that… I don’t sleep when I’m supposed too, but fall asleep randomly during the day. Frustrating at the least.

I’m currently under the hospital while they try and figure out what’s the cause? As you know I have cataplexy, but even that’s been questioned and they have said I may have been misdiagnosed ?

I can sometimes look and feel blinking knackered, for want of a better word.

So Avon say:

Our formula with an exclusive Shadow erase complex and self sdjusting sheer optics technology, designed skin tones is the seasons must have to make sure your eyes glow throughout the holidays.

93% of woman saw the look of dark circles dramatically reduced. Its designed to match different skin tones. Custom flexible tip for comfortable precise application. 31% improvement in the look of under-eye dark circles over time.

Basically you apply Absolute Even under your eyes. It a light-weight iridescent cream and it does make the under eye area look more alive and rested.

I love it for the temporary brightening effect it has. I can’t say it has made that much difference to the darkness once it has been washed off . But hey I don’t expect miracles and hopefully as they (the hospital) get my sleeping in order the dark circles will sort themselves out .

I don’t like the applicator and squeeze a-little  onto the end of my finger and apply it that way. Much easier, believe me.

You can then pop on your touche éclat, or whatever concealer you use… if need be. (I use Rimmel myself, same job, dam sight cheaper) Some days I  skip that ‘bit’ all together.

Its not just what you put on your skin but also what you put into it.

On the recommendation of my friend Rach I have been  making myself a Nutri Bullet special all this week. Apparently it will make me glow. She recommends you do it for 4 days every few weeks.

All you do is blend – a pear, an avocado, hand full of spinach, parsley and watercress, with a squirt of lime  and some ice. Its thick, very green and globby but doesn’t taste as bad as I thought. I added a banana this morning. Go me!

I’m not sure if I’m glowing but I have a swing in my step and I’m sure my body is thanking me, or rather it is in shock…what is this goodness you are feeding me?!

This afternoon I’m hopefully paying a visit to the Christmas Market in Sheffield City Centre.

I can almost taste my first glass of mulled wine (of this year)..I figure I deserve if after all the ‘green stuff’  I’ve been consuming!

Don’t you just love Christmas !
