Alexa rocked the white shirt, black bow combo back in 2012. More recently the likes of Caroline Flack and Cheryl Cole have been spotted out and about in there’s.
I love the look, it’s very masculine yet chic, very French, maybe even a little bit cheeky. Very sexy.
Therefore I’m made up that the likes of Marks & Spencers, Alice Temperley and ASOS are running with the trend.
I love Somerset by Alice Temperleys version which I spotted in John Lewis yesterday. Yes I was that lady stood admiring and dribbling! Yes clothes can do this too me, and yes it’s very sad.
As you would expect the detail is really beautiful but it’s not cheap at £79.00. Much to my dismay I really can’t afford to buy it this month. HERE
Marks and Spencers version is more affordable at £29.50. It’s not as crisp, more soft around the ages, romantic looking. Floaty and frilly. Not as masculine. HERE
ASOS comes in at £30.00
Zara have a couple of beauties, both £29.99. A short sleeve, casual one and a shirt that doesn’t quite fit the bill, but is so lovely it deserves a mention. HERE // HERE
Last but not least, Primark has come up top trumps yet again.
Let me introduce you to the budget version. Yours for £10.00 ( ignore the Wallis hanger)
Ok I admit there’s not as much detail, it’s very plain.100% polyester with detachable neck tie It’s great for the money…AND… I bought this!
My boyfriend hates me wearing Primark; he thinks their clothes look cheap. Yep I agree some do, but some don’t. I can honestly say that this doesn’t. It looks alot more expensive than a tenners worth of blouse. Team it with Black cigarette pants, or a berry leather pencil skirt, red lippy, tousled hair, hint of leopard skin and a little attitude. Rock n roll.
I’m a firm believer that it’s how you style and wear your clothes, mixing and matching designer and high street.
In the end I suppose the cheapest way to do this ‘look’ would be to take an existing white shirt (everyone has one don’t they) and buy a length of black ribbon which you could tie around the neck line. (John Lewis sell ribbon) Cheap and cheerful but on trend. ‘On trend’… Who do I think I am!? I sound like bloody Gok *giggles*
What do you think to this look? I’d love to hear your thoughts… about this or anything really. Its good to talk and I love talking.
Until next time, which I suspect will be in the form of a food review, enjoy the rest of your day. Myself and a few friends had a delicious afternoon dining, drinking Processco and catching up in the sun last weekend. I need to tell you about it and Sheffield people it’s really worth a visit…

You look amazing in the Primark shirt….I had a look at it today instore and it looks very good for the money and I wouldn’t want to spend too much on an item that is most likely a one season wonder! I am going to customise my Primark shirt from last year with a piece of velvet ribbon…..as I suspected the M&S blouse just didn’t do it for me! Too frilly! Michelle xx
Thank you Michelle that’s a lovely thing to say . I’m sorry that the M & S blouse didn’t work out. I’m having dilemma’s about a dress I tried on there yesterday. Instagram love it but my mum doesn’t!! What’s a girl to do?
I Look forward to seeing your customised shirt soon and thanks for popping by and leaving a comment, Tracey xx
