Christmas Treats for Big Girls…

This may just have to go down in history as they best advent calendar … ever!

I’m not sure who gets most excited in the mornings. The cats Lola Lip and Frankie Pants who have a Dreamies calendar between them. The Mr’s kids with their One Direction and Mushy Monsters Advent calendar or moi ici with my YOU Magazine ‘Make a wish’ Advent Calender.  Ok hands up its most definitely me!

I purchased the advent calendar for £49.50 a few weeks ago  – it may seem a lot but the contents are worth over £200.00. I’m honestly not sure how I managed to keep my hands of it before December 1st.

I did and I thought I would do a round up of the goodies I have been treated to so far… and when I say they are goodies… they are most definitely goodies!

ALL

The whole shebang Days 1 to 9… Yep its only the 8th but one got over-excitable yesterday.

DAY 1:

1

A 10ml sample of Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask.

I’ve used this mask twice since I received it and its beautiful, which is no great surprise seeing as its been brought to us by Sisley. I love Sisley, but its out of price range unfortunately.

I’m no skin care expert therefore I’m not sure how it works but you leave it on your face for 10 – 15 minutes, let it sink in and then wipe away any excess. On both occasions it has left my skin looking all plump and feeling rather lovely. The full size ranges between £87 and £95 depending on where you purchase it from, so I’m treasuring this sample and only using it when I have something special on.

DAY 2:

2

Caudalie Feuille de Cassis Hand and Nail Cream – 30ml

I must admit I was slightly disappointed with this in as much as I don’t get excited about hand creams. Saying that as hand creams go its very nice and smells delicious.

DAY 3:

3

ESPA Refining Skin Polish 7ml,ESPA Optimal Skin Pro Serum and a £15 gift card to spend on-line with no minimum spend

If you’ve never had the pleasure of using ESPA you are really missing out. I use their Replenish Body Oil on a daily basis. I have great hopes for these two.

DAY 4:

4

Leighton Denny Vamp Nail Polish – 4.6ml

A tiny sample that should give you a couple of uses. A beautiful dark read/black.

DAY 5:

5

Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash – 100ml

Smells delicious, reads well and I’m sure I’m going to love it when I get around to using it.

DAY 6:

6

Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation – 7.5ml

I got massively excited when I opened this one and couldn’t wait to use it. I’ve read loads of reviews, which all mostly raved about how good it was. I have to agree it is. It makes me skin look better than it is without looking overly made up. The full size is £47.00 and although rather pricey I will definitely be purchasing this when my precious little sample runs out. Luckily a little goes a long way.

DAY 7:

7

The Vintage Cosmetic Company – Limited Edition Slanted Tweezers.

Exclsuive to the YOU Beauty Advent Calender – well aren’t we the lucky ones!Whats not to Love.

DAY 8:

8

Aromatherapy Associates Inner Strength Bath and Shower Oil – 7.5ml

I’ve not used anything by these before so I’m looking forward to a lovely long bath later using my 2 capfuls as instructed. It contains clary sage, frankincense and cardamom which apparently will help me find my inner strength during challenging and difficult times….

I’m not sure about the above claims but its smells divine, kind of how you imagine a health spa may smell.Healthy.

Day 9: which is officially tomorrow..

I got a-bit ahead of myself over the weekend! If you’ve not opened yours yet…don’t read any further!

9

Trilogy Rosapene Night Cream – 25ml

I shall be using this tonight. A thick , rather lovely smelling night cream by a brand I’ve been keen to try. I am hoping to wake up tomorrow rested with skin like a babies bum.

So there you have it days 1 – 9 in a nutshell.

I think you’ll agree what a great start!  A terrific selection of products from some great premium brands. It’s brightening my mornings up no end, I will no doubt have withdrawal symptoms come Boxing Day (nothing a Baileys won’t sort out) … however there’s 15 more boxes to open yet – please don’t hate me too much.
