Fishnet Fever!

It’s been done before and it will no doubt be done again … but excuse me while I have a fishnet with stilettos and jeans moment.

It’s such (in my humble opinion) a great look.

Above is some inspiration  taken from Pinterest and below here I am giving the large hole fishnets with leather and leopard / banana yellow shoes a twirl. Continue reading

The choker …

Some trends come and go . Some never really go away they just meander in the background waiting for their day.

Why hello Ms Choker … It’s nice to see you again!

Chokers… were do you stand?

Love them, hate them … or I’ve never really thought about it as there are far more important things to think about camp? Continue reading

And just like that…

Another beauty of a top just pops out of the page at me…

Green Lace Blouse // £29.99

Of course it’s ordered.

It’s green, it’s lacy and it’s going to be mine. (I feel like I should end that sentence with “wha ha ha ha “)

I gave up on the green sequin dress along time ago…it obviously wasn’t to be. It’s not like I’d even seen anything – it existed only in my imagination.

But green lace? Now we are talking.

I also have my eye on this beauty, also from H & M

Oh and this…

H&M are coming up trumps and have some great shirts and blouses in at the moment.

I find blouses are so versatile , they look great with jeans, pleather leggings and skirts…basically with most things…maybe not your jogging bottoms mind. Though never one to say never…I bet there’s somebody somewhere rocking that look.

I have to say that the store at Meadowhall (Sheffield) is a bit of a ‘miss mash’ and I prefer to shop on line.

My mum walks around there tutting, examining and telling anybody that’s listening that the clothes could do with a good iron. (she does have a point, some do look like they’ve been screwed up and are in need of a good press )

So anyway, I’m digressing… back to yesterday. At one point I had over 4 tops in my basket but I had to narrow it down to just the 1.

I’m not that flush unfortunately!

Green it was then. I have green eyes, that’s enough excuse to buy a new top I’d say. Plus I also love me some lace.

I just hope it fits?!

I’ve ordered size 12 which I would normally be. However I fear that what with the mince pie fetish I had over Christmas combined with my current obsession of mini eggs and Freddie bloody Frogs it might not fit.

Dam you chocolate (why do I love you so much) and where the hell did you go Miss will power?!

I’m hoping the up and coming holiday with the girls might kick start something. It’s not until the end of June but we’ve just booked a long weekend in Marbella to celebrate Leighs – one of my oldest and dearest friends – 50th.

There are 10 of us Yorkshire ladies winging our way across … maybe 13.. . Marbella you have been warned.

Here we are over 10 years ago!!!

I love this photo, it evokes such great memories (and some not so great…about an hour after this was taken I was sick in a plant pot bang outside a bar!)

Leigh is the very brown one (she insists on orange) at the end…making the rest of us look positively lily like.

While I realise I am not fat (I just pull fun at myself) I do want to tone up. It currently feels as though my bum enters a room ( wobbling) a good 5 minutes after the rest of me… and in all seriousness my mince pie belly is starting to resemble a baby bump.

God forbid!!

I’m currently toying with the idea of Slim Fast. Has anybody used it before, would you recommend !? I know it’s lazy, but sometimes lazy is good… right?

I’m also started doing the towel workout, which involves a towel (obviously) that you must keep taunt at all times and lots of squatting. It’s playing havoc with my knee…

It also involves alot of… ‘Get down Mollie”, “Stop it Mollie”, “MOLLIE!” as our dog decides every time I squat it’s the ideal time to jump all over me, nearly flooring me as she tries to get my towel.

I am seriously hampered at times.

As a last resort I have seen this gorgeous Kurt Geiger snake-skin swimming costume…

Swimsuit // £55.00

I love it.

It’s not cheap but it’s going to be my inspiration to get fit / tone up ( she says currently munching on a massive cookie. Whoops )

I keep trying to envisage myself sat at the pool, sipping on a ‘sex on the beach’, reading ‘love x style x life’ and wearing this…only I keep reverting to a bloody whale…

Whales donning Snake skin was never a nice image!

So in other news…

Yesterday was the Mister and I’s first anniversary together . Yay – one whole year, and what a year its been.

We’ve actually been friends for over 23 years.

He came to my wedding. He was a shoulder to cry on when all ‘men were bastards’ and over the years we have many a time got drunk into the early hours on ‘firecrackers’

He moved away, we stayed in touch via Face book. He came back. We met up and the rest they say is history…

Yes all that time he was right there in-front of me!! Who would have thought!

In true ‘our’ style we decided to make it as cheesy and as naff as we possibly could.

Bring on the red plastic heart-shaped cups, heart confetti, heart chocolates, PESKY mini eggs and a bottle of Spumante Brut…which was surprisingly nice.

I’ve always been a cheap date.

I’m now going to love and leave you. I’ve rambled on enough…  I have a bath and major pamper planned in my beautiful new bathroom (and then some yellow shoes to source.)

It’s finished and I love it.

What do you think?

Slouch with me …and other things to hide a ‘mince pie’ belly

I’ve walked the dog a couple of times today. NO word of a lie it’s beyond freezing here today. I’m sick of getting muddy, my treasured biker boots are ruined and I can’t get warm.

Come wind, rain or snow our Millie still needs her exercise…

I feel shocking which doesn’t help in the slightest. My throat and ears  hurt. A lot. I’ve got a nose that won’t stop running and when I talk I sound like Phyllis Pearce from Coronation street… remember the old lady with purple hair and the blokes voice. When I laugh I sound like Muttley from Wacky Races.

You get the picture, basically I’m hampered.

Poor little old me.

The house is still in disarray, I have no kitchen. Well I do there’s just nothing in it apart from a sink and I have a half completed bathroom…

The cats have moved on from worms and now insist on bringing me birds…be that dead or alive!!

arrhhhhh.

I came home earlier, grabbed myself a coffee and feeling ever so sorry for myself plumped myself down in the living room ( ignoring the massive hole in the wall, the cold draft, my mental pets  and all the crashing and banging) to look for paint and wallpaper inspiration which somehow ended up with me on Pinterest looking at all things oversized, mainly chunky knits?

How does that happen…??

mmmm quite easily with me.

NFD – Accessorising with obi belts…

Now I don’t claim to know much, if anything about fashion but I spend alot of my time with my head shoved in fashion magazines, umming and arhhing over clothes I can’t afford. Ever since I spotted Cara Delevingne wearing a rather gorgeous red obi belt…well I’ve wanted a piece of the action. Obi belts are nothing new and have been around a while . They were big news back in 2011, but like most things are making a welcome come-back, or maybe they never really went away? Either way I’m inspired…

Obi belts also referred too as sash or wrap belts are soft belts that you wrap around and tie either at the front, back or side  – from Japanese origins.

image

Miss Delevingne looked amazing, but then again let’s face it she would look great in a potatoe sack! I am in lust with her outfit; I think that the belt really adds the finishing touches .

Flicking through this month’s Vogue… up they popped again.

image

So here’s my inspiration and how I’m planning to style mine.

image

imageI love the idea (above) of a long chunky cardy over a polo neck / skirt combo neatly gathered with an obi belt. It’s just looks so stylish and really accentuates your waist . The same goes for the blouse, it just adds that little something and pulls an outfit together. They would also look great and add a little va va voom to jumpsuits and dresses.

I have some great news. Well I say great – don’t get excited! I would have disclosed this earlier in the week had I not been scared somebody would outbid me and I’d miss out. For once I kept completely stum.

So the news… I bid for 2 ASOS obi belts ( one black, one tan) on ebay at the beginning of the week and I’ve only gone and bloody won them both for the whooping cost of only £2 plus P+P. Yes you heard me correctly two whole English pounds.

Said belts are winging there way to me as I am  typing and I have my fingers crossed they fit. Like the ding bat I am….I didn’t check the sizing!!

imageSo if they don’t here’s where I’ll be heading. Mango.

This comes in at £29.99 and comes in black and chocolate. HERE

ASOS have some beauties…

But I’m saving the best for last.

Delicious isn’t it ? I’m just working out whether or not I can afford it.

(Translates too …  If I can or can’t this will be in my Wardrobe!)

I’ll keep you updated as to whether the ebay goodies fit (please fit!) and how I get on styling my outfits. My plans will either come together nicely or I’ll look a proper chuff!

Until next time, Tracey x
