STYLE | the one where I talk about River Island dresses …

I’m still bloody singing Cliff Richards ‘Wired for Sound‘ I’m starting to not only do everybody else’s heads in , but even my own now !

If you’re not sure what I’m talking about because lets face not everybody follows me over on Instagram . I woke up yesterday morning with this song running around in my head which I’ve proceeded to sing / hum / whistle for the past 24 hours. I’m sure the last time I heard this tune was around 1984 so gawd knows where it came from , or rather what I was dreaming about last night !

Me and Cliff * shudders *

In an attempt to rid my mind of this ‘evil’ I thought that now would be the ideal time to grab a big coffee and talk to you about dresses. More specifically a couple of dresses from River Island that I received earlier this week.

Friday Favourites …

Hello …

I hope you’ve all been enjoying the last couple of days of sunshine, it’s been glorious hasn’t it? Saying that its currently raining here.

Summer lasted all of 3 days!

I jest … hopefully it will visit us again soon.

I’m sure I’m due another favourites post though I can’t seem to get these out in any particular schedule. My current mind set is ‘all over’ something I’m hoping will work itself out when mums out of hospital and back at home with us.

So here are the things that I’ve been enjoying / have made me smile recently.

A few of these items are newbies and a few I’ve been using for years but thought they deserved a mention.

First up …

ALL IN ALL – Temple Spa £20.00 – 300 ml

As you may ,or may not be aware, I used to be a Temple Spa Consultant. Despite loving the majority of the products I was rubbish at hosting parties.

Basically I used to have panic attacks and talk about 100 miles an hour. Public speaking terrifies me and people were mostly confused.

I tried but for my own sanity I gave it up as a bad job but continued purchasing some of the goodies.

All in All is one of the products I fell in love with and still use religiously.

It’s a multipurpose balm that can be used on your hair, body and face.

I use it to souly moisturise my body but it can be used as a face balm and a hair conditioner.

It contains essential oils and botanicals – lemon, nutmeg, coriander and guaiacum. It has the most delicious smell which I love slathering all over and which more importantly lingers on your skin. If you catch me sniffing my arm … that’s why!

Most definitely my favourite body moisturiser. EVER.

Work wear edition…

Sorry I’ve not been around that much…

To cut a long story short my mum has been admitted into hospital for pain management. She’ll be in for a week or so.

When I’ve not been working , I’ve been visiting her.

When I’ve not been visiting her I’ve been thinking about her.

What I’m doing 24/7 – worrying about her.

I’m emotionally drained.

Despite sporting a rather horrendous hangover [ I’m never drinking again ] I thought I’d do a quick post today about work wear. More specifically what I’ve been wearing to work the last couple of weeks.

It’s an area not many people tend to cover so I thought I would. Let’s face it we spend most of our life at work. Continue reading

Party, Party into the New Year …

I’m not sure what the Mr and I are doing New Years Eve just. It’s been the same for the past few years. The majority of our friends have young children so they tend to stay in and welcome the new year in with them.

We’ll do something but it’ll be very last minute. We like to fly by the seat of our pants.

My friend Lisa has also mentioned meeting for casual afternoon drinks tomorrow to celebrate her birthday .Like me she’s a December baby. All our fun happens in one month!

Yesterday I had an hour to kill and thought I’d have a mess …(like you do) just in-case any of the afore-mentioned plans came into fruition. There was cleaning to be done but why clean when you can procrastinate hey?!

Let me have my Private Benjamin moment …#ootd

It’s been a long time since I did an outfit post …

However I thought I’d share a recent purchase with you. It’s one I’m rather fond of.

I give you my camouflage ankle grazers from good old Marks and Spencer’s.

I had gone into M&S with every intention of getting a camouflage jacket (and a moussaka)

My BF decided in a recent clear out to throw away the one I had ! I wasn’t happy. I loved that jacket;  it had a big sequined eye on the back. It sounds awful but it wasn’t . It was delicious.  A purchase from La Redoute many, many  moons ago.

So anyway I failed miserably on the jacket (and moussaka) front and came away with just the trousers. Continue reading
