LIFE | 2 minute musings

“The Church is not an automobile showroom – a place to put ourselves on display so that others can admire our spirituality, capacity, or prosperity. It  is more like a service center, where vehicles in need of repair come for maintenance and rehabilitation ” Dieter F Utchtdorf

Every time I venture to a new place one of the first things I do is seek out the local church

It’s something I’ve always done … ever since I was a little kid with dirty finger nails and scuffed knees . It was my thing.

I was always in awe of their grandeur and beauty. I explored churches and marked toilets out of 10. Anything that scored under a 7 and my mum would steer clear. I guess I came in useful for somethings Continue reading

LIFE | Malaga Revisited 2019

Malaga, the Martini of the Sea ‘ – Raphael Perez Estrada

I’ve just returned from another fabulous weekend away with my friends in Malaga . I’m currently wet through after returning from a drizzly dog walk in the woods with Mollie , my only clean jeans are splattered in mud and I’m cold because basically it is cold; more October than June ! It’s not good to be home.

Take me back to the weekend … a white wash of sunshine, fun and friends.

LIFE | Goodbye 2018…

You know how I like to end my year with a goodbye / round-up post … Tracey’s Oscar speech of sorts. Well here is this years offering …

[you can read last years post // HERE]

It’s slightly earlier than usual because there’s a rumour we may be going away. I say maybe because it’s the 20th December and nothing has been booked as yet ! Even by Michael’s standards that’s leaving it late.

A Sheffield Girls Guide to Malaga – Part Two

I’m back … this time it’s to talk about the fun and cultural stuff to do in Malaga city centre . There’s so much I kinda guess we only touched the surface …

We called at a few roof-top bars but I’m going to start with my favourite Atico which is situated on the 15th floor of the AC Hotel by Marriott Málaga Palacio. It came highly recommended by a few people and I can see why.

Entry will set you back 8 euros ; for this you get your first drink free which conveniently costs 8 euros . We had a large Gin & Tonic each which was so good we had a couple more!

A Sheffield Girls Guide to Malaga – Part One

As your aware , or maybe your not – I shouldn’t make such assumptions – I’ve just returned from a fabulous long weekend in Malaga with 4 of my best friends. We try and have a few days away every year .. and apart from the ‘wedding and baby years’ we’ve managed to achieve this!

We have experienced an amazing few days which flew by far too quickly. I’m missing those ladies already. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much in ages and it’s just what I needed ! Roll on next year.

There’s so much to tell you I thought I’d split the blog into a few posts starting with accommodation . Lots of you messaged me for details after seeing my posts over on Instagram stories … so here goes.

Oh to be a Beach Goddess, SPF’s – the usual holiday musings …

I’m going on holiday in a few weeks for a long weekend in Malaga with 4 of my best girl friends .

I don’t care that it’s only 4 nights away because I know they will be a fabulous fun-filled 4. It’s amazing what you can pack into a few days.

We’ve booked a beach house through Air BnB which looks idyllic. The views look amazing and it really is only a stones throw away from the sea. My favourite place . I swear in a previous life I was a fish … or maybe a dolphin.

There are 2 large roof terraces. I can see us chilling there with cold beers while putting the world to rights. They’ll hopefully be lots of sun, Sangria and probably not much sleep… because we’ll be dancing the night away of course. Got to love some serious cheesy euro-pop in the sunshine haven’t you !

We fly out on a Thursday with one air line and back the following Monday with another. We’ve only booked hand-luggage on the way out. We aren’t entirely sure what’s happening on the return journey … we’ve booked ‘priority something or another’ for £5. We’ve been reassured our bags will return with us! Famous last words.

I’ve therefore got to pack lightly and only take what I really need which to be honest I’m quite good at. This was something that always surprised my mum. She couldn’t quite believe how somebody so scatty in everyday life could pack like a pro! [ I never let on that I could pack , just not necessarily the right stuff! ]
