Good afternoon, how are we all today?
I’m sat here patiently waiting for Boris to advise whether Sheffield is one of the cities about to go into further lockdown . I’ve so far sat through a press conference where some medical guys who blew my mind with science. I found myself drifting … mid 6th graph I started to ponder just how many masks I’d be able to do if we are! It’s not much … but it’s a little positive and I guess we have to take them when and where we can.
I do LOVE a pamper in the form of a long bubble bath and a good face mask, especially as the nights turn colder and we are under darkness at 4pm. Masking by a candle lit bath – bliss. Baby it might be cold outside but I’m just dandy thankyou
Today I thought I’d share some of my current favourite face masks with you which seems quite relevant with the influx of people suffering with ‘masacne’ having to wear face masks all day long for their jobs . On the days when I’m feeling a little conjested and in need of a deep cleanse I head for …
DALTON MARINE COSMETICS – Skin Balance Oyster Mask
I love this mask. I finished a 3 month paid partnership with Dalton last month and this for me was one of the stand out products. It is one I will definitely re-purchase. It’s grey-blue in colour and has quite a thick consistency; it smells delicious… not fishy in the slightest, not that I’ve any idea what an oyster smells like !
It is a mattifying and anti-inflammatory mask. It cleanses pore-deep and prevents the appearance of further blemishes, while infusing the skin with intense moisture. It leaves my skin feeling super clean, but without any dryness.
You apply to the face, neck and decolletage; leave for 15 minutes before removing with a warm cloth
• Natural ingredients from the sea • Cruelty free skincare
L’OCCITANE – Purifying Mask with freshly-cut Provence thyme

This does a very similar job to the above Oyster mask as in its great for clearing conjested skin.
This is a bright green thick mask that gives me all the Kermit frog vibes and contains freshly cut Provence thyme to purify the skin and reduce excess sebum. It is another mask that I could happily sit and smell all day long. Delicious …

You apply and leave on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing. Skin feels beautiful fresh and clean once removed.

I am 3 months into using my prescription skincare from Dermatica and while it is working wonders to keep my skin clear [ yay! ] it can leave my skin feeling a little dry in areas. For the days when I feel like a hydration boast is needed I head for this mask …
ANTIPODES – Aura Manuka Honey Mask *

This is a glorious mask AND can we have some conker appreciation please ! I do love a conker and as it’s Autumn thought it would be ‘ cool’ to incorporate…I guess a honey coombe would have been more appropriate but I don’t come across many of those on my daily Mollie dog walks !
The Aura Manuka Honey Mask with Vinanza Grape, Pohutukawa Bloom & Vanilla Pod has been a god-send – it intensely hydrates , whilst minimising blemishes. Perfect for my combination skin. It’s a lush mask which I use once or twice a week depending how dehydrated my skin feels. I apply a thick layer , leave for 15 minutes before rinsing and applying my usual moisturiser.
It is recommended that you use this mask in an evening but I’m using it in the morning to give my skin a hydrating boost, ready to face the day. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and comfortable with no tightness and dare I say it – I have a little glow.

INSTITUT ESTHEDERM – Osmoclean Lightening Buffing Mask *

This is my newest discovery which I recently received as part of a PR parcel with no obligation to post. It is definitely worth a mention as it’s a grand little mask.
It is a grain free , cream scrub that comes in a very gentle , non-abrasive formula. It helps to lighten and even out the complexion. It eliminates dead cells, and as it contains Kaolin absorbs excess sebum and tighens pores. This has hardly any scent to it and doesn’t feel so much like a treat, rather it is doing a specific job , if that makes any sense !
You apply to your face, leave for a few minutes before exfoliating and rinsing thoroughly. My skin feels wonderful AND it is extremely gentle. Massive plus – it hasn’t broken me out or aggrevated my skin and it appears to soften/ lessen my pores.
So there you have it my current go to masks .
Did any of them take your fancy…or are there any masks you would recommend? Please do let me know in the comments below.
Me …I ‘m off for a bath and pamper, all this mask talk got me hankering for one. It was that or polish my conkers !!
