B E A U T Y | autumn feels

I adore Autumn; the start of a new season. A chance for new beginnings and opportunities.

It is a little step closer to Christmas. For the first time since we lost Mum [over 2 years ago] I am actually looking forward to Christmas this year.

Nights spent at home are longer, darker and cosy ; ambience created by my numerous candles scattered around the Lounge.

I look forward to soaking in luxurious bubble baths before smothering myself in rich body lotions. To climbing into my fleecey pjyamas and fluffy bed socks.

I’ll no doubt find myself engrossed in some serious drama on Netflix , channel 5 Christmas Movie channel or a good book … accompanied by a large glass of Baileys.

Always Baileys .

As it comes, over ice, or in coffee. Either way I’m not fussy.

Nature like a chameleon changes from greens to beautiful shades of burnt oranges and red. Nights draw in and the temperature plummets. Its woolly scarf and hat weather ; my favourite.

My makeup tends to follow suit. My pink lip is swapped for a deep red and my eyes go heavier and warmer.

I’ve recently discovered and started to wear red / coral shades on my eyes; I can safely say it’s fast becoming a firm favourite. It tends to bring the green out in my eyes.

Today I thought I would share some of the makeup I’m currently enjoying using … as you can see it’s all looking very autumnal

First up is this lipstick by * M.A.C in ‘602 Chili’ £17.50 . A deep orangey-red Matte lipstick that instantly warms the face. I really like this shade.

My mum wore an orange / red lip perfectly. She always encouraged me to go for something warmer. She used to joke that I looked like I’d been dug up because my lipstick [ in her opinion ] was always far too pale !

Tropic Skincare Lip Fudge – ‘Rosewood’ £12.00

I tend to use this when I’m working / staying at home or at night just before I head off to bed .

I love my lips to-feel plump and nourished even when I’m sleeping. Dry lips are a no no around here. Lip Fudge is a lip conditioner that smells like mint, is highly moisturising with just a hint of colour. It comes in 3 shades – Rosewood [above ], clear and Pink Guava

100% naturally derived , vegan and cruelty free it’s ticking a lot of boxes.

* M.A.C ‘Feels So Grand’ Retro Matte Liquid Lip colour -£19.00

Non feathering, non bleeding liquid suede formula that lasts for up-to 8 hours. A bold true red that is sure to get you noticed.

I’ve worn this on a couple of occasions and always felt very empowered. I did retouch before 8 hours was up , not that it needed it but old habits die hard I guess. Matte lipsticks can feel slightly drying at times , so I sometimes pop a little Vaseline to the centre of my bottom lip. I know this kinda defeats the purpose but hey ho.

With my new bob haircut and sporting a bold red lip I felt very Polly from Peaky Blinders. Could somebody please tell the delicious Aberama Gold I’m sat waiting for him …

HUDA Beauty ‘Coral Obsessions’ Eyeshadow Palette – £25.00

What can I say ; it is just delicious. 9 highly pigmented shades that can be built to create a dramatic eye or  simply just a wash of colour.

The palette came in a goodie bag I received at the beginning of the year and it was my introduction  to the Coral side.

I don’t forgo my pinks all together in Autumn . Oh no ! I still love a glossy nude beige-pink , like above. Sometimes I’ll do a really dark smokey eye and I just want a subtle lip.

* M.A.C Love Me Lipstick ‘Laissez-Faire’ – £17.50

Argon oil infused formula ; it is a beautifully creamy lipstick that leaves my lips feeling instantly moisturised. Satin finish AND I love the colour.

* M.A.C Art Library ‘Flame Boyant’ – £39.00

A palette of 12 stunning firey -red shades that can be used wet or dry . They are safe for contact lens wearers and I honestly can’t get enough of it!

  • Amber Lights: Peachybrown with shimmer [Frost]
  • Samoa Silk: Warm orange beige [Matte]
  • Rule: Vivid orange [Matte]
  • Fan the Flames: Warm reddish copper [Frost]
  • Daliwood: Burnt brick orange [Matte[
  • Louvre at First Site: Cool red [Matte] GORGEOUS !
  • FlameBoyant: Metallic red [Frost)]
  • Everyone’s Darling: Warm wine burgundy [Matte]
  • Dada Issues: Peachy brown [Matte]
  • La Vida Mocha: Brown with bronze [Frost]
  • Embark: Intense reddish brown [Matte]
  • What’s the Pointilism: White gold pearl [Frost] – Great to highlight the inner corner of your eye

It’s funny I’m finding the older I get the more experimental I want to be when it comes to creating make-up looks. Life is far too short for boring makeup!

Applying makeup is therapeutic; I think so anyway . I figure if all goes wrong and your face looks a bugger you can just wash it off and start all over again!

And lastly another lipstick that I’m finding myself wearing a lot recently is from * M.A.C Love Me lipstick ‘Nines Lives’ – £17.50

It is a deep magenta, not too pink, not too purple. It sits beautifully in between .

So there you go …

I hope you enjoyed my little round up of my autumnal makeup.

I really wanted to include one of my favourite lipsticks from Clarins – a beautiful coral – but I can’t seem to find it ! It’ll be at the bottom of one of my bags no doubt!

I’m not sure if your noticed but I got my ‘proper’ camera back today and it was so good to get back to taking photographs other than on my phone. I loved shooting and styling these.

As always I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Also … please feel free to share. Sharing is caring after all.

Until next time, Tracey x
