Everything for a fiver …

I do love a good bargain.

I also love ,love, love new clothes, shoes and accessories.

Since I started working part-time however I don’t have the money to be as frivolous.

Something had to give and I’m not quite ready to give up my love of avocado (I spend a small fortune on them but I’m hooked) and my girlie lunches!

I try to recycle my old clothes on eBay. I figure it’s a good way to buy new gear.

Old for new … Or in some cases old for even older !

I recently discovered French label BA&SH and while I love the whole range of outfits , at an average price of €200 it’s probably somewhere I could never realistically shop on a regular basis.

But I can look and look I do.

Take this top …

It’s perfect.

It comes in Cream and Navy, lace-knit , 3/4 length sleeves and high neck. It’s all there. I’m not so keen on the price tag of €305 . I just couldn’t justify it at the moment.

Maybe for the one off, as a surprise from the BF or maybe to treat myself.

I stumbled across the website Everything 5 Pounds while looking for a leopard print maxi dress (with the face on because I couldn’t afford all the deliciousness on BA&SH)

I have purchased from Everything 5 Pounds before  and a couple of items caught my eye.

It’s not half bad…

I bought this blouse which if I’m honest … I’m not 100% sure about.

The BF and mother pulled the same face.

One of horror !!

Pink lace insert blouse – mmmm a bit in your face

I don’t hate it, I just don’t love it either. I ideally wanted it in cream and black (sold out) which was softer and didn’t look as ‘cheap’

I figure come Autumn I’ll get some wear out of it .

I’ll be able to wear it as styled above with a smart black jacket for work or an oversized chunky cardigan for a more laid back feel.

Basically I’m keeping it because it would cost more to send it back!

If all else fails.

Duster.

Something I am happy with is the dress above. (Despite this pic making me look slightly pregnant . I’m not!)

I was ideally looking for something casual that I could mooch around the garden in… You know when it gets hot and summer kicks into action ?

When??

Margo ( The Good Life) would be SO proud!

It’s 95% polyester and 5% elastase.

It’s a maxi with a halterneck, has a fitted padded bra and which comes in 4 colours.

A lot of dress for a fiver.

The Clothes are updated daily and everything is £5 ( like it says on the tin)

Here are some other items that caught my eye:

Flared shirt dress – perfect mooching around the garden / shopping attire. Love the colour.

Nude Skater Dress – I love a cream dress and I’m currently on the look-out for a knee length one. The ones I have are very short and I don’t feel comfortable walking around Sheffield in them. The beach maybe but not over here .

I would definitely add a slim tan or gold belt to give my waist some definition. It would also cover the nasty elasticated waist -band.

Ornate print navy top – perfect with your denim cut-offs above, or your boyfriend jeans.

Leopard print halterneck – the reviews all state it is actually nicer in the flesh and hangs well.

I’d like to see this on.

Wide leg wine culottes – I’ve just been over to pop these in my basket. Only size 8 & 10’s left unfortunately. I’m a size 12. Need to be quicker !

Geo print espadrilles – I’m seriously considering buying these, they are just too cute!

Aztec tote bag – perfect for the beach.

I could go on as I’m like a kid in a sweet shop.

Obviously I’m not sure what the quality of the items would be like but the items I have purchased so far have all been fine.

What I wouldn’t want to do is get carried away and buy lots of stuff I didn’t really need just because it’s cheap. It’s also very wasteful.

I’ve done that before, bought lots of bits I didn’t really want/need and  ended up spending the same amount as I would have on that one top / dress / pair of shoes that I really wanted but didn’t think I could afford!

What are your thoughts and experiences of buying from the cheaper websites / shops ?

Do you stay away because of ethical reasons or is this something that you don’t really consider when shopping? I would love to hear …

Oh and what do you think to the pink blouse?

Yay or nay ?!

I did ask my #snapchatfam ( look at me getting down with the kids) but nobody replied.

Not a good sign!

Until next time, Tracey x

I’ve heard of Everything for five pounds but haven’t purchased anything from them. I love a good bargain but I’m also becoming more aware of what I buy and where. Personally the pink is a bit wow for me but if you feel good in it….rock it 🙂

      Morning ,
Yes I’m with you on trying to shop more ethically but it’s easier said than done. I’m currently reading up on it … Finding out who and where they sell ?
Regards the blouse it is bright. I figure if I did wear it, I would cover most of the pink up with a jacket ( and make everybody wear sunglasses!) Thankyou for your comment , Tracey x

Thankyou for your input … Verdicts still out on the blouse. It may come in handy to cheer me up on a dull winters day . Thanks for taking the time to comment 🙂 Tracey

Great blog post, we appreciate it here at E5P. Just to clear it up- we don’t make our own products. We carefully select them from well known brands, such as Zara, Topshop, Boohoo etc and various french and Italian (especially footwear) designers. Seasons change quickly, and many products become warehouse goods. We source and keep them at an extremely budget friendly price so you can enjoy new fashion without overspending. It’s a pleasure providing such a service. Please enjoy!

Beautiful blouse which goes well with your color type. So wear it. Be brave and sexy! You can never look cheap. Great dress, too!
I bought shoes from E5P and happy with them (better than Calvin Klein e.g.) They sell exactly the same for 7 times more in a shopping mall here so I think why not at E5P. I cannot make shoes. I make clothes and also think where I buy stuff.

Thankyou for reading and leaving a comment. I kept the blouse and I will wear it… (I’m glad you like it )Most likely on a dull day to brighten it up. I’m trying to consider where I buy clothes more but it sometimes does come down to what I can afford. Tracey
