I do love a good bargain.
I also love ,love, love new clothes, shoes and accessories.
Since I started working part-time however I don’t have the money to be as frivolous.
Something had to give and I’m not quite ready to give up my love of avocado (I spend a small fortune on them but I’m hooked) and my girlie lunches!
I try to recycle my old clothes on eBay. I figure it’s a good way to buy new gear.
Old for new … Or in some cases old for even older !
I recently discovered French label BA&SH and while I love the whole range of outfits , at an average price of €200 it’s probably somewhere I could never realistically shop on a regular basis.
But I can look and look I do.
Take this top …
It comes in Cream and Navy, lace-knit , 3/4 length sleeves and high neck. It’s all there. I’m not so keen on the price tag of €305 . I just couldn’t justify it at the moment.
I stumbled across the website Everything 5 Pounds while looking for a leopard print maxi dress (with the face on because I couldn’t afford all the deliciousness on BA&SH)
I have purchased from Everything 5 Pounds before and a couple of items caught my eye.
It’s not half bad…
I bought this blouse which if I’m honest … I’m not 100% sure about.
The BF and mother pulled the same face.
Pink lace insert blouse – mmmm a bit in your face
I figure come Autumn I’ll get some wear out of it .
I’ll be able to wear it as styled above with a smart black jacket for work or an oversized chunky cardigan for a more laid back feel.
Basically I’m keeping it because it would cost more to send it back!
If all else fails.
I was ideally looking for something casual that I could mooch around the garden in… You know when it gets hot and summer kicks into action ?
Margo ( The Good Life) would be SO proud!
It’s a maxi with a halterneck, has a fitted padded bra and which comes in 4 colours.
A lot of dress for a fiver.
The Clothes are updated daily and everything is £5 ( like it says on the tin)
Here are some other items that caught my eye:
Flared shirt dress – perfect mooching around the garden / shopping attire. Love the colour.
Nude Skater Dress – I love a cream dress and I’m currently on the look-out for a knee length one. The ones I have are very short and I don’t feel comfortable walking around Sheffield in them. The beach maybe but not over here .
I would definitely add a slim tan or gold belt to give my waist some definition. It would also cover the nasty elasticated waist -band.
Ornate print navy top – perfect with your denim cut-offs above, or your boyfriend jeans.
Leopard print halterneck – the reviews all state it is actually nicer in the flesh and hangs well.
I’d like to see this on.
Wide leg wine culottes – I’ve just been over to pop these in my basket. Only size 8 & 10’s left unfortunately. I’m a size 12. Need to be quicker !
Geo print espadrilles – I’m seriously considering buying these, they are just too cute!
Aztec tote bag – perfect for the beach.
I could go on as I’m like a kid in a sweet shop.
Obviously I’m not sure what the quality of the items would be like but the items I have purchased so far have all been fine.
What I wouldn’t want to do is get carried away and buy lots of stuff I didn’t really need just because it’s cheap. It’s also very wasteful.
I’ve done that before, bought lots of bits I didn’t really want/need and ended up spending the same amount as I would have on that one top / dress / pair of shoes that I really wanted but didn’t think I could afford!
What are your thoughts and experiences of buying from the cheaper websites / shops ?
Do you stay away because of ethical reasons or is this something that you don’t really consider when shopping? I would love to hear …
Oh and what do you think to the pink blouse?
Yay or nay ?!
Not a good sign!
Until next time, Tracey x
