It appears that as well as take all the cutlery my ex had also taken all the flipping razors. He had left me just the one – Mr blunt and useless! Always on the last lap and looking more woolly mammoth than lady I decided that perhaps I had better shave my legs on Friday evening in preparation for the spa, Saturday.
Let’s just say what started out as a lovely relaxing bath ended up with me frantically running around with a face pack on and towel in mild panic mode ‘up-turning’ the house for a razor. You’ll be pleased to know I found one, it was on its last legs but did the job. I decided against false tanning. The night I was having it was bound to end in a streaky disaster. Pale and interesting it was then!
We had been invited by the lovely people at Moddershall Oaks Spa to come and have an evening of rest and relaxation and to experience the new outdoor Jacuzzi area. We both jumped at the offer. We met at Tankersley Manor on Saturday afternoon and ‘Thelma and Louise’ style set off on our 2 hour road trip to Staffordshire. Liz drove and I ate jelly babies.
Thankfully we had sat-nav and found our destination fairly easily. Moddershall Oaks is situated in beautiful countryside.
We stopped the car at the entrance-way to watch 2 cows having a fight .
Seriously, we were both transfixed for all of 2 minutes before the novelty wore off and we didn’t care who won. Laughing we made our way to the car-park. We checked in and were taken into the dining area for a glass of champagne. It really was impressive and tastefully decorated.
Moddershall Oaks is an exclusive 5 star adult only spa.
Fireside relaxation Lounge
Outdoor spa courtyard
Finnish kelo sauna
25 sqm outdoor heated spa pool
Heated marble loungers
Reflexology foot baths
Our tummies suitably fed and watered, we were given a guided tour of the facilities before being ‘let loose’ on everything on offer.
We obviously made time for a spot of posing…
Well you’ve always got to do the feet by the pool shot…right?
And there’s always time for a selfie!!!
I really should maybe have taken the time to tan my legs! At least they are hair free.
All that larking around in the pool is thirsty work, it was soon time to put our feet up with a cuppa in the newly added Relaxation Lounge.
Once coffee was finished and we’d recharged our very worn out batteries, Charlotte kindly offered to show us another new addtion at Moddershall…The Snug.
The snug is exactly that…a snug. A sumptous room, kitted out with everything that’s required to hold pamper parties, complete with large screen TV and can be personalised to cater to every pamper princess’s needs.
By this time, we were more than ready for the ‘piece de resistance’…the outdoor jacuzzi!!
We had waited patiently all evening for our moment in the tub and could wait no longer – we were like two eager little schoolgirls and were actually chomping at the bit.
There happened to be a party of 18 staying at Moddershall on the same night we were there and they had taken over the tub for their own private party. The staff informed us that they were leaving for their evening meal at 8 so the pool would be free. We waited no longer…
(Excuse some of the shots – by this time, we couldn’t contain ourselves and things had got hot and steamy)
This would make the ideal romantic weekend away…imagine if you can you and your loved one sat sipping champagne in the outdoor heated pool /jacuzzi. Gazing into each others eyes. Chatting under the stars, skin against skin with the water gently massaging you. Steamy. Giddy on fresh-air and fizz.
Now I was in there with Liz and even I felt a little amorous! (I just kept thinking about 2 cows fighting. It did the trick)
I’m just writing this in the vain hope that Bradley Cooper is reading and fancies making one half of the naughty forties a very happy lady !
Till next time…a very relaxed Liz and Tracey x
