BEAUTY | first impressions of the British Beauty Box

*AD – this post contains gifted items. No payment has been received.

Hey up lovelies,

I’ve not written one of these posts for a while … in fact the last one I wrote was for a couple of purchases I made from Trinny of London at the beginning of last year . So today I thought I’d rectify that and give you my first impressions of The British Beauty Box which I received a few days ago.

Just to warn you this post maybe tinged with Rocky Horror Picture Show narratives as my fabulous BF secured tickets last night for me and a couple of friends to go andsee it at The Lyceum Theatre in a few weeks time. Whoop whoop. [Refer to my previous blog post and you’ll understand my excitement !] Even my dog Mollie is answering to Sweet Transvestite or Frank n Furta!

So anyway back to beauty –

Please remember this is an initial thoughts only post. I’ll review seperate products in future posts when I’ve had a chance to use them for a few months.

The British Beauty Box is on its 2nd edition and is delivered to your door every 3 months so you will receive 4 boxes a year. There are different payment options:

  • Monthly – Pay £25.00 per month
  • Quarterly – Pay £50.00 every 3 months
  • Annually – Pay a one time payment of £175.00

You will receive 5 full-size products in each beauty box . That’s an amazing saving when you consider the  contents are worth over £200.00 [based on RRP.]

LADIES THAT LUNCH | The Library Bar and Restaurant

Sheffield has recently had an influx of new cool places to hang out . We have always been a bit behind the rest of our neighbours Manchester and Leeds so it’s good to see us catching up. At last. Though saying that our Christmas market is seriously lacking !

Last week I, along with a few other lovely bloggers friends , were invited along to The Library Cafe and Restaurant to experience their weekly Jazz Night ‘Jazz on the Cliff’ which is held every Thursday evening.

HEATH |Eyeye Sheffield… I see you !

There are various situations that send me into a mild panic ; make me anxious .

  • Flying
  • Being near sharks [ not that I rarely ever am. I don’t get to Sea World that often ]
  • Attending my eye test earlier this week.

I had been worried about my eyes [especially my right one] which over the last few weeks have felt heavy and hard to open in the morning – on awakening it felt like my eye was stuck to the inside of my eye-lid. Eekkk I know .

It was freaking me out to the extent I daren’t sleep for fear I’d not be able to open my eyes ever again! [ I’ve always been a bit dramatic ]

Rather than ignore it and hope it would go away [ something I promised mum I’d never do ] I booked in with favourite opticians Eyeye in Sheffield to get it checked out.

Unfortunately not everything in life can be resolved by sticking on some Barry White , turning up the volume and dancing around your living room like a woman possessed .

PLACES | The Mowbray

Hey how are you all doing?!

This is a fairly quick post I’ve jiggled together on a Tuesday afternoon as I wanted to show you a fabulous new venue that’s recently opened its doors in Sheffield .

Its visually a delightful post.

I was lucky enough to be invited along to #LOVE event which was held at The Mowbray on Sunday.

If you are looking to get married or need a space to host a meeting or an event then this could well be the place you have been looking for.

The Mowbray is based on Mowbray Street, which is in the Neepsend area of Sheffield. It was built in 1889 and over the last 3 years has lovingly been restored. Its owned by the same team that have the Chimney House , which regular readers will know I fell in love with at the Viking Stationary event I attended. [ You can read about that HERE ]

Basically I wanted to move in and the same can be said for The Mowbray.

It has a similar feel to The Chimney House but it is a lot larger catering for 200+ people. It is open plan with high ceilings, ‘that’ stunning feature light, a bar at the far end of the room and a roof terrace. If rustic industrial was a ‘thing’ then this would be it.

Introducing – Turtle Bay to Sheffield

At the end of May I got invited along to the press night of the newest ‘eating and drinking spot’ to hit Sheffield – Turtle Bay on Holly Street, which is next to the City Hall. Turtle Bay is a chain of Caribbean restaurants that are scattered all around the country.

It was a great evening, spent with lots of fellow bloggers; drinking rum cocktails and sampling the food. I did come away slightly deaf as the live band where extremely loud. I found myself shouting to get heard on more than one occasion .

Ey’ up it’s ‘Nana Tracey’ here!

Ladies that Lunch | The Florentine , Sheffield

Date night last week was spent feasting on a fabulous 3-course meal in this beautiful corner of the Florentine Pub…

We had a lovely meal and I’ve been meaning to write this review up for the past few days … but you know sunshine. I’ve been more or less laid horizontal for the past few days in the back garden and you know what it’s been really rather nice.

We are back to drizzle in Sheffield, so here I am … like Arnie.
