S T Y L E | Butterfly Twists x Catherine Zeta-Jones

Hi everyone,

Hope you are feeling good today and that you are enjoying this fabulous weather we are currently basking in. Phew it’s been hot… but no complaints this end.

Today I am very excited to announce that British footwear brand, Butterfly Twists, have teamed up with Oscar winner and fashion maven, Catherine Zeta-Jones, launching an exclusive partnership with her lifestyle brand, Casa Zeta-Jones.

What’s new Sheffield?

If you’re in the city at any point during the next few months I thought I’d share some places with you that are new [ish] on the Sheffield scene .

There’s something for everyone … the beauty obsessive , fashionista and the lush!

PUBLIC BAR

I first heard about this place after I was tipped off about it by a friend on Instagram. I popped across and started following them immediately . Their feed was all very cryptic and hush-hush.

I was intrigued.

Happens Public is situated in the old Gents public convenience [under the Town Hall] which was closed down around 4 years ago to save the council money. It has now been transformed into a sleepeasy style bar. Aptly named ‘Public’ in a nod to its past . Continue reading

Move over Don Johnson…Tracey’s in town.

I got new shoes …

Yay * high fives the air*

White ones !

😐

I’ve never gone down the white shoes route before … you know being a mucky child. Then a mucky adult.

Even mum expressed concern… “white shoes Tracey , really, really? … you know how heavy you are on your feet?

She has a point, I’m not the best. I do attract muck!

I have a pair of white Adidas SuperStars that are hardly Insta worthy. While most people keep theirs in pristine condition mine are worn and worn to death. Covered in mud and splurges of grey paint!

That aside when Shoetique approached me and asked if I’d like to choose a pair of shoes to review I jumped at the chance and these jumped out at me!

I lovingly call them my ‘Don Johnson’ babies.  Continue reading

The Little Black Dress …

I thought I’d do something a bit different today…you’ll have to let me know whether you like these kind of posts or not?

Christmas is only a stones throw away , its also party season and boy do I like to party. Don’t we all !

It’s also my birthday month . I’m 46 this year – don’t even ask me how that happened! I swear I was only 21 a few years ago – or that’s how it feels anyway. My mum always told me it flew by when you reached your 30’s. Boy was she right.

An item of clothing that will see you through is the ever trusty Little Black Dress fondly referred too as the LBD.

Over the years I’ve had a few of these and they are a god-send. Dressed up , dressed down coupled with the right accessories it can look like a totally different outfit.

First up is the dress of my dreams…and totally out of my price range.

Isn’t she gorgeous?

I’m 5ft 10 so this dress wouldn’t drown me. Lace , pleats, high neck what’s not to love?

Self Portrait £320.00

I swore I’d never wear a long dress again after I was Brownie Queen and made to wear an awful pale green monstrosity ! It haunted me for years.

Masquerade Ball …#Sheffield

On Saturday I got to have my hair ‘done’ ,dress up to the nines and party with some of my favourite ladies. (Miss O Malley over in Spain you were missed!)

The occasion a Charity 1950’s Masquerade Ball, raising money for Sheffield’s Children Hospital.

Myself and Sue decided to treat ourselves and had booked  into Purdys Hair salon on Abbeydale Road Saturday morning. As I didn’t have a mask I thought I’d better do something special with my hair. Just who goes to a masquerade ball without a mask??

It’s a fab little salon with a lot of character. I felt like I was sat on the set of Grease! (always longed to be a Pink Lady)

For £25.00 you get a set and up-do.

I took a selection of  images featuring  1950’s beauties hoping that something would be achievable on my scraggy mid-length hair. I half expected to walk out looking like Kevin Keegan, but I needn’t have worried!

Sue opted for victory rolls ; I just told Victoria to go for it, do what ever. Continue reading

When you stop looking…spotlight on Zaful

It’s funny isn’t it… The moment you stop looking for something up it pops.

In my case… the perfect dress.

Now I’ve not got my hands on it yet, and it could look like,  or rather I could look like a sack of spuds in it. But on first sight, it was love… It’s everything I look for in a dress.  Pretty, lady like and a beautiful cut and colour.

It’s got 3/4 length sleeves, it’s nipped in at the waist and midi. Ok so it’s not green sequinned but what’s that between friends.

Plus green sequins are so Christmas 2015, darling 🙂

So here she is in all her glory Light Blue Half Sleeve Dress
