B E A U T Y | first impressions – Antipodes Skincare

A few years ago I stumbled upon the brand Antipodes. I can’t remember which but if I recall rightly I had just read a blog post or watched a vlog by Megan from ‘Wonderful You‘

She was running through her daily skincare routine which included the ‘Juliet Brightening Cleanser’ . I immediately searched online and purchased it ; I mean she had amazing skin! What was there to lose? A lot actually . I’ve found in the past what works for somebody else might not necessarily work for you and it’s a total waste of money. [That’s why I wish more brands did sample sizes] BUT on this occasion we happened to love each other … and so my love affair with Juliet began.

I adore this cleanser and the brands ethos ; they are cruelty free, organic and vegan approved. I have made several purchases of the cleanser since. I am lucky in that I am in the position where brands send me products to try but I always seem to steer back to this cleanser.

Fast forward to a few days ago and the delivery of a care parcel from Antipodes.

Mucho excitement on my part !

I was kindly gifted:

The road to clear skin …

Skin… it’s a funny old thing isn’t it?

(Oh good afternoon by the way)

Having not been lucky enough to have been born with good (skin) genes; I feel like I’ve spent the majority of my life looking for products that really work. Skincare that takes my crappy skin and makes it look better but also deals with any signs of aging.

I’m 45 and still suffer with spots and open pores. I’ve got scarring and pigmentation caused by the blemish’s. I’m not asking much am I?

I realise that ” they can’t work miracles ” as I was kindly advised by a consultant up at SKIN , Sheffield. She had perfectly , flawless skin and about as much tact as Blackpool front.

Through gritted teeth I told her bluntly that I appreciated that … and resisted the urge to punch her in the face!

People with good skin need to understand that people with bad skin (in my experience) are usually sensitive about the subject.

I have friends who used to go into a major panic when they got one blemish on their chin. Imagine a face full? Continue reading

My Thursday 3 #thingsthatmakemehappy

The suns shining * punches air* and the worlds a much happier place don’t you think?

I’ve false tanned my legs . I’ve even bloody shaved them and the ankles are making their 2016 debut.

Hey even old grumpy guts across the road raised a smile earlier. Well , when I say smile … he didn’t look at me as though he wanted to kill me so much. Just maybe kick me in the shin a little .

Which got me thinking … apart from the sun what else is guaranteed to make me smile this week.

So today I give you ‘My Thursday 3′ Continue reading
