The Little Black Dress …

I thought I’d do something a bit different today…you’ll have to let me know whether you like these kind of posts or not?

Christmas is only a stones throw away , its also party season and boy do I like to party. Don’t we all !

It’s also my birthday month . I’m 46 this year – don’t even ask me how that happened! I swear I was only 21 a few years ago – or that’s how it feels anyway. My mum always told me it flew by when you reached your 30’s. Boy was she right.

An item of clothing that will see you through is the ever trusty Little Black Dress fondly referred too as the LBD.

Over the years I’ve had a few of these and they are a god-send. Dressed up , dressed down coupled with the right accessories it can look like a totally different outfit.

First up is the dress of my dreams…and totally out of my price range.

Isn’t she gorgeous?

I’m 5ft 10 so this dress wouldn’t drown me. Lace , pleats, high neck what’s not to love?

I swore I’d never wear a long dress again after I was Brownie Queen and made to wear an awful pale green monstrosity ! It haunted me for years.

The end … Marbella Diaries

So as with most good things they come and go far too quickly for my liking.

I had been looking forward to my weekend in Marbella with the ladies for what seemed like forever and it was over in a flash … just like that !

So how did we spend our last day?

Having not really left the villa during the day to explore , we decided today was the day we would venture out to Orange Square in Marbella’s Old Town.

I had heard reports it was amazing and very beautiful.

Having only had a few hours sleep, hung over but feeling surprisingly chirpy , 6 of the 10 booked taxis for 11.00am.

We had strict instructions from Leigh ( who decided to have a lazy day around the pool) that we had to be back at 5.00pm.

We had no idea why but promised we would be.

Old Town Marbella was approximately a 20 minute taxi drive from the villa and cost €24 (about £20.00) which between a few of you doesn’t break the bank.

By golly was it worth it  … when we eventually found her.

Head upwards towards the mountains , not towards the sea like we did initially !

Bowling and Bare Bottom Butlers

Last weekend my beautiful friend Rach and I packed our bags and said good bye to the circus… well it was Sheffield actually but the circus sounds so much more romantic . We made our way across the Pennines and an hour later arrived bright eyed,  bushy tailed and munching on a MacDonald’s in  Manchester (to line our stomachs of course)to attend Miss Lisa Turners hen do.

On arrival we checked in the hotel, made a quick change into our party outfits, applied a spot of lippy and ran the brush through our hair. Ready,  we made our way to All Stars Ten Pin Bowling at Great Northern on Deansgate. Your probably thinking the same as us! What, why?

All we had been told was to get to All Star Lanes for 8 pm, to expect bowling at some point , nibbles and a little karaoke .

Tottering along in totally unsuitable bowling attire (dress and killer heels)  we arrived like 2 dolls heads some 5 minutes later and were chaperoned towards the Private room. Continue reading
