The approaching New Year has a way of making us all feel a little reflective doesn’t it?

Sad, happy , excited , full of hope, anticipation of better times … that somehow the dawning of a new year , a new day will make everything a-little better?

It’s a chance to wipe the slate clean and start again. I for one can’t wait to see the back of 2017, but in reality it is just another day – its our mindset that tells us otherwise and I suppose that’s not a bad thing. Continue reading

Ladies that Lunch | The New Lunchtime Menu at The Botanist, Sheffield

Cake, cocktails and good company are three things that make me happy.

I might not have got cake but I got the later two when I was invited along to The Botanist for a Bloggers Lunch earlier this week to sample the new lunch menu.

Cocktails for me came in the form of Gin & Rhubarb Old Fashioned , just the one as I was driving.

It came in a short glass with just a slice of lemon and ice for garnish and was extremely strong. It’s a cocktail I would order again without a doubt [ just not when I was driving !]

Good company came in the way of Rach [ my wingman ] and a group of lovely Sheffield bloggers and their plus ones. It was great to eventually meet some familiar faces.

Life goes on …

It’s been just under a month since we said our last goodbyes to mum.

Despite the boyfriends pleas that I don’t talk about it [ to the world that is ; he’s been a rock and is a great listener] apparently I am being morbid. I am single handily depressing and boring the blogosphere. I thought I’d go a head and do an update anyway .. on life.
