Sond …the little life saver for sensitive skin!

A few weeks ago I was asked whether I would like to trail some skincare from the brand Sond who specialise in skincare for people with sensitive skin.

If I’m honest I had never heard of this brand before but was very keen to find out more. I had a quick look on their website  and discovered the following:

  • Sond has a mission to improve the lives of people with sensitive skin. They create products to make sensitive skin look and feel amazing.
  • Their approach to skincare is holistic.
  • Silica  is used in all their products. Silica is a powerful mineral that is naturally present within our bodies. It is essential for collagen production and strong healthy skin.
  • They took the word Sond ( which actually has 2 little dots above the o) from the middle of the German word ‘besonders’ it means special.

I love discovering and trying out new brands. My skin has the ability to be very temperamental and has periods where it can be overly sensitive and spotty.

It sounded like just the ticket.

I plumped for the Firm and Smooth Revitalising Face Serum (£42.00 – 30ml ) which I received along  with a 5ml sample size of the Nourish and Plump Replenishing Face Oil (£34.00 – 30ml)

The products arrived very well presented in a sturdy cardboard box.

The contents of the box were wrapped up in Sond logo-paper and tied with a black ribbon. I undid the ribbon to reveal my products nestled in a straw type packing along with a catalogue full of information regarding the skincare line.

I love it when you can tell some care and attention has gone into the presentation.

Firm + Smooth Revitalising Face Serum – the official line

It leaves sensitive skin feeling soft and hydrated. Revitalising Face Serum is formulated to firm, smooth and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by delivering silica and sodium hyaluronate.

The paraben free formula soothes skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth. The serum improves the elasticity and firmness of skin.

My thoughts:

From the word go I loved this product and believe me that doesn’t happen very often.

My skin told me she loved it too by not reacting in a negative way.

It’s not uncommon for my skin to breakout / flare up whenever I trail some new skincare. This happens more or less straightaway so when I got to day 5 without a single spot, or  bumpy rash I was chuffing delighted.

It applies like a dream and sinks into the skin  beautifully leaving a great, non greasy base for your moisturiser and makeup.

I’ve been using it religiously every morning and evening for the past 3 weeks. You only need a few pumps to cover your face and neck area. (Unless you have an unusually big face then you may need more!)

My skin feels hydrated but not greasy. It looks clearer, feels plumper and my pores don’t look/ feel so open.

If you follow me on twitter or Instagram you may have seen me gushing about how impressed I am. It’s a product I shall definitely be repurchasing when this bottle runs out.

Imagine for a moment we are sat in the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ studios … it would definitely be a 10 from Len Tracey for its performance…

Aqua, Dimethicone, Silica, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylcellulose, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan gum, Sodium hyaluronate.

Replenishing Face Oil – the official line

Restoring suppleness and radiance to sensitive skin, the Replenishing Face Oil softens your skin with silica and coconut oil, replenishing essential moisture and softening fine lines.

The paraben free oil provides instant and long-lasting hydration by improving moisture retention to reveal brighter, more radiant skin.

My thoughts:

I’ve only used this product a couple of times  to date but plan to start using it more regularly. I applied it in an evening when I felt my skin needed some ‘ummmph’

I’m quite wary when it comes to facial oil as I don’t want to overload the skin. I needn’t have worried though as this oil is very non-oily , light and absorbs quickly.

It smells delicious.

Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric triglceride, Silica, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

I was scouring the website and  noted that there’s a great Starter Set (£25.00) which would be ideal to try the range before you plump for the full sizes.

It contains sample sizes of both items detailed above.

Full contents : Hydrating Face Spray -10ml, Revitalising Face Serum – 5ml, Replenishing Face Oil – 5ml and Energising Supplements – 30 capsules

Until next time, Tracey x

  • All items reviewed were kindly gifted to me by Sond but as always all opinions are strictly my own. I would never recommend anything to you that I wouldn’t use myself !
  • It is worth noting I am 45 years old with combination skin that is prone to spots around my jaw line and chin.
