All the joys of spring …

It’s that time of year when I start to think about booking a holiday somewhere faraway, a new place to discover which is hopefully very HOT!

It’s that time of year I tell myself I really should start to diet incase I book the afore-mentioned holiday and have to bear the old bod.

God forbid it’s any time soon I look like a bloody beached whale! [ one that’s in need of a desperate slick of false tan and some serious toning up]

It’s the time of year I long for and envisage the sun on my face [wearing nothing less than factor 50+ of course ]

It’s the time of year that I actually make an effort and shave my legs ! It’s been a while. I’m not sure ‘leg hair plaits’ are a thing … just yet !

It’s the time of year when snow drops and daffodils start randomly popping up , the sun rears it lovely head [occasionally] and little lambs are spotted jumping playfully around the fields. [ this is the very reason I stopped eating lamb, I could never quite get that image out of my head. It kinda spoilt my meat and two veg! ]

This week we actually experienced a couple of days of sunshine and you know what … it felt good. It actually felt like spring had sprung.

So what better way to carry on the spring  feeling than with a session of laughter yoga at Meadowhall.

Which is exactly what Sue & I did  this morning.

Meadowhall are running a series of events in their  ‘Joys of Spring Campaign’, this being amongst them. [Check out their website for more details.]

Laughter Yoga is great fun if very random.

We got some strange looks particularly from one guy who walked past , then walked past again you know just to make sure he wasn’t seeing things! I don’t know what he found so weird really  … I mean whats strange about a group of ladies sat in a circle waving their arms around in the air, letting out big ‘hee hee’s’ and ‘ha ha’s’ at 9.30am on a Friday morning ?!

It was extremely good fun and yes we laughed a lot!

Just looking at these pics has put a great big smile on my face.

The two ladies from Sunshine and Laughter who took the class ran through a series of quick exercises with us, each one leaving us in hysterics.

The exercises were easy and can be undertaken when and wherever you feel you need your spirits lifting.

It definitely did the trick and left us both in great moods which will hopefully last throughout the day and brush off on the people around us.

Did you know that Laughter :

Lifts our mood and reduces stress and anxiety.

Activates our lymphatic system.

Unleashes endorphins

Great team building tool

Helps boost our immune system

Tones muscles

Energises us and

Relaxes inhibitions …

Like I said very random but very good fun.

Hopefully Meadowhall will hold some more sessions in the near future and if they do you really must try to join in…

So what else is making me feel spring like this week …

As usual I’m filling my house with flowers.

Lots of pretty flowers.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who gets lots of pleasure from candles and flowers. [They also look great on Instagram!]

One of my favourite candles and a gift from one of my best friends is the ‘Siesta Forever’ candle from Temple Spa.

It smells beautiful and retails at £26.00, with a burn time of 45 hours.

It is infused with a luxurious blend of relaxing essential oils that will leave you with a sense of calm.

The fragrance combines a blend of relaxing essential oils including lavender, petitgrain, geranium, frankincense, chamomile, myrrh, black pepper, dill and patchouli.

As candles go it’s a beauty.

I’m always worried I’ve become ‘nose blind’ and that my house smells of Mollie [the dog]

Everybody reassure me it doesn’t … this candle double ensures it smells of anything but dog.

I’m hopefully off clothes shopping tomorrow.  Yay! It’s been a while BUT that doesn’t mean I’ve not been looking.

Is the pope catholic?

It’ll be officially ‘get your legs out’ season soon. I’m looking for a few pretty dresses… while frantically exercising so my legs are fit for show.

Here’s are a few things that have made me look twice recently…

I’m not sure it’s exactly my colour or if it’s even long enough but I do like this flirty little number from Matalan [ maybe more on somebody else ! ]

Look at those dreamy sleeves. Gotta love a statement sleeve.

It’s a steal at only £18.00 // HERE

Just add a suntan, some fabulous accessories and your good to go.

Keeping with the floral theme this dress from Very -£38.00  is really pretty and a better length  // HERE

I spotted these Bardot dresses. Also from Matalan which at only £12.00 each [floral £16.00] would be ideal to throw into your suitcase.

In fact they’d be great to throw over your bikini,  throw on to go from beach to bar … the perfect ‘throw on to go anywhere’ dress.

It comes in four colour ways :

Gingham // HERE

Floral // HERE

Thick Stripe // HERE

Thin Stripe //HERE

Below is a beautiful dress from Lavish Alice which is a tad more dressy than the ones above // HERE I tend to forget about this brand which sells some wonderful clothing

Unfortunately  there are only sizes 6 and 8 left… I could probably squeeze one leg in.

I have petite body envy.

So there you go …

Hopefully I’ll have some more ‘items’ to share with you shortly and also my new glasses big reveal .

I love getting new glasses and the guys at Cross Eyes, Sheffield provide a great service .. but more of that in another post including a picture of the back of my eye which totally fascinates me!

Until then I’ll leave your with this …

The spring wakes us, nurtures us and revitalizes us. How often does your spring come?

If you are a prisoner of the calendar, it comes once a year. If you are creating authentic power, it comes frequently, or very frequently.” – Gary Zukav

Deep … very deep  *go ponder*

Until next time, Tracey x
