I feel like I’ve not spoken in absolutely ages; that I’m neglecting the blog somewhat.
It doesn’t help that I’ve spent the last week, laid horizontal anywhere I can, not feeling too great myself. I was even poorly on my birthday . Great timing eh? I appear to have the dreaded lurgy that is sweeping the nation . They are dropping like flies at work. Even Mollie dog is under the weather!
Well I am here to rectify that today, a little snotty with a tickley cough [ that’s driving me bonkers ] but here.
So how the devil are you … and are we all ready for Christmas ?
Are you fed up of being asked that question yet? I am … and no I’m not [ ready ].
I’ve not even put my tree up ! I have ordered Harry Styles new album but no tree. [Priorities] Yes you heard correctly – my Christmas tree is not up
“Good god woman” I can imagine my mum muttering from above “pull your finger out!” I’ll no doubt be getting struck by lightening if it’s not up in the next few days ! …
My Mum absolute loved Christmas.
I loved Christmas …
I guess that I still love Christmas but without mum around it just doesn’t feel the same. Some of the magic has disappeared and while I’m happy there’s a tinge of sadness over everything. I am a Christmas tree light short of a full set.
I don’t get as giddy as I used too BUT on a positive note I am not dreading it like I have done in previous years. Excitement levels are up slightly which would make my mum extremely happy . It is progress and any progress is better than non.
So if you are anything like me [last-minute Sid] and you’ve left everything until the last minute . I’ve pulled together a few Stocking Fillers | Secret Santa ideas all for under £10.
Everything I’ve featured is available online [ and has been linked ] but are also available on the high street . It is fairly late in the day and the companies might not be able to guarantee a delivery before Christmas Day.
I find Boots is always a good place to start, it may have changed over the years and now sells sex toys [ who knew eh ? ] but it’s always reliable with the added bonus of the 3 for 2 offer!

It helps calm and revitalise dull-looking skin . Contains Vitamin E and K , Iron and fatty acids.

Dirty Works Handbag Heros gift set – £7.49

This set is available in both Boots and Sainsbury’s. The later could be lethal . You know the saying “I only popped in for milk and bread !“
I actually received this set as my Secret Santa last weekend and I can confirm that the hand cream smells really lovely .
My friends and I popped across to Straffords Arms, Stainborough for Festive Afternoon Tea . It was an early birthday treat for me and it may well be our last ‘girlie’ gathering before Christmas.
We exchanged Secret Santa’s and chatted about nothing and everything. It was a lovely afternoon … despite a few slip ups and the service being very bog-standard . I would go into details but I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I hope it was just a bad day on their behalf .
Afternoon tea would set you back £17.95 per person and the menu changes every month to reflect the ‘season’ . They gave us 25 % discount to make up for the above.
I’m hoping I have taken a turn for the better and gradually start to feel better as I’m back at work tomorrow.
I am also going to try and do another blog post before Christmas. Hopefully I’ll have my mojo and some of my humour back !
I’m actually planning to post once , maybe twice a week in the new year but that’s another story for another day .
If however I don’t manage it …
Have a fabulous Christmas !
