Style | KT by Jennifer Hamley

For 14 years I worked as Office Manager at a large design company based in Wakefield. I loved it there [for the most part] but like most good things unfortunately it came to a an end

I suppose during my time there I liked to look the part. I used to love getting ready for work ; smart dresses, trouser suits, neat hair and immaculate makeup . Stilettos; the higher the better [ this was my pre- dodgy foot era ]. Power dressing when you didn’t feel that confident / know what you were doing was the quickest way to fool everybody into thinking you were and that you did !

There was just one thing I always felt was missing. I always hankered after a brief case one that was both stylish and practical.

I never got one. I used to juggle various bags often forgetting where I’d put things, or leaving essentials at home! Having to carry my laptop in a separate bag [usually of the plastic kind!]

Fast forward a few years …

I am no longer an Office Manager. I now have a couple of varied jobs, I write my beloved blog and … I’ve only acquired a bloody briefcase, or a workbag as it’s referred [which sounds far less stuffy!]

When the lovely PR lady for Jennifer Hamley approached me to see whether I would like to collaborate with them I didn’t have to think twice and immediately said “YES please!” If you aren’t familiar with Jennifer Hamley she is an award winning handbag designer – she delivers statement handbags for inspirational woman.

As my time is currently spent flitting here, there and everywhere it made sense for me to have a bag that was universal, one that went with most things. One which was practical yet stylish. One which could entertain my laptop, camera and other everyday essentials … you know my lippie , mirror and sneaky Freddo Frog! [ I’m obsessed with those chocolate bad boys ]

My beautiful KT workbag does all of those things while maintaining its style and keeping me organised.

KT is a dark aubergine [ available in various other colours ] leather bag with gold detailing . Worn over your shoulder , cross-body , or by the short handle the choice is yours.

Beautiful detailing …

The inside of the bag is beautifully lined in cream and aubergine logo fabric.

If you like pockets and little zipped compartments this is definitely the bag for you. Jennifer really has thought of everything ; there’s even a shopping bag folded away in one of the pockets!

Other features include :

2 large external zippered pockets for security and access on the go. A padded laptop compartment. Business card holders. Internal zippered and open pockets.  Sunglasses holder. Adjustable strap. Handsfree Travelcard /Oystercard holder. Pen holders and key clip.

It also comes with a pouch in co-ordinating fabric for you to carry your laptop cables around in. I think I might utilise this and re-invent it as a makeup bag, one that is kept in the bag so it all matches nicely.

For me one of the key features of the KT work bag is the detachable clutch. It’s ingenious . You just unzip and go.

I met my friend for a coffee earlier this week . The sun popped out and it would have been rude not to make the most of it.

I didn’t need to lug all my ‘bumf’ around with me so I unzipped the clutch, put the bits in I needed and took these with me. As shown below. I left everything else in the car.

The detachable clutch is big enough to fit laptops and tablets up to 15″

I only needed to carry a lipstick, mobile, money and my car keys. It’s ideal.

Enjoying coffee in the sun …

To summarise :

It’s a great work bag for the professional lady [or ladies like me who like to think they are] – stylish but practical. The only tiny negative I have is that it can get quite heavy, but that’s to be expected when you are carrying laptops and the likes around. More an inevitability than a negative I guess.

If you did want / prefer something slightly smaller Jennifer Hamley also do a mini KT crossbody; same style only slightly smaller.

The KT Workbag as featured above can be yours for £425.00 which may sound like quite a lot …however  I prefer to see it as an investment, one that will be with you for years to come. My dad has a fabulous briefcase; its dark brown, battered and very retro. I’ve threatened to pinch it on numerous occasions. Last count ‘she’ was 28 years old, and looking better than ever.

I’ll just conclude with this … which is rather grand news for you .

If you were to order a bag from the website , by entering Naughty40 at checkout you will receive a Sakura purse [ worth £60.00 ] free of charge along with the bag of your choice [ You will need to select the Sakura purse of your choice and then add the code when you checkout ]

Sounds rather fabulous doesn’t it. Please click ‘here’ to discover more // HERE

Until next time, Tracey x
