Can I pass something by you… what is beauty to you?

What is beauty to you?

How do you feel about aging?

Are you planning to grow old gracefully or give it a run for its money?

Over the next few weeks I’m going to do a sequence of posts in regards to beauty. We often read about what celebrities use in.their beauty routine and their thoughts on aging . I’m going to talk to ‘real’ people who have a limited budget and get their thoughts on what beauty is to them.

By real I’m talking about the people you meet in everyday life. Your work colleagues, your neighbour, best friend… I’m not saying celebrity’s aren’t real, of course they are. They are also very unattainable; let’s be honest the likes of you and I aren’t very likely to ever meet any. Celebrities look great (mostly) and in my humble opinion so they should. Celebrities, TV personalities, soap stars, however you wish to class them… the people we read about in our magazines. They can most-likely afford to have the best procedures undertaken and buy/use the best products on the market if they wish.

It might not be so easy for the rest of us. I’m currently saving for a blinking moisturiser!

My plan is to take 4 ladies ; All Beautiful in their own right but very different shapes , sizes and ages. Ladies who I consider are fabulous both inside and out and who have a zest for life… I hate saying for their age as I don’t believe we should be pinpointed by our years. But yes, for their age. I’m going to delve into their lives. Photograph them. Interrogate them about their lifestyle, skincare regime, diet and fashion. Find out what makes them tick and get their tips on how they stay looking and feeling so good. It’s nothing new, but rather than seeing my ugly mug all the time and my recommendations I thought it would be nice to get somebody elses perspective.

These ladies aren’t selling anything and therefore have nothing to gain by the recommendations they make.

What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts.

I’m hoping that despite having no idea who these ladies are you’ll still find the interviews interesting. That you’ll Jump on board and take something from it..be it a new moisturiser to try, or a philosophy to live your everyday life by.

The first lady is Sue, a fabulous 62 year old part-time teacher. Her interview should be up some time this week. Keep your eyes peeled.

We fondly refer to Sue as Peter Pan because she never ages. We joke that she must have a fountain of youth hidden at the bottom of her garden!!…

AND One day I will find it! * runs off rubbing hands and cackling *

Until next time, Tracey x

Fab Idea. Can’t wait to read your interviews. I’m always on the loo out for beauty ideas and have taken some tips from you a few times. Good luck with your features. Xx

Thankyou, im quite excited to do them. The first lady Sue looks great and has so much energy so I’m hoping she’ll share some of her secrets with us all. It’s good to share – Tracey xx

Love this idea! Too often we try to define our beauty by other people’s standards or rather industry standards. Have you ever seen a plump woman featured in a Spanx ad? Or a person with wrinkles or hyper pigmentation featured in a skin care ad? I wonder sometimes just who is their target market. That’s not to say I am not going to work on keeping healthy and looking as fabulous as I can but I will try to define my own sense of beauty and that will start from within. Love this!
